We do look a better team without Adel in at the moment unfortunately. As we all know he can be brilliant, but he slows the play down far too often and is too greedy and selfish at times. We created more chances today than I can remember in a game for a long, long time and this owes mainly to unselfish players that are willing to play someone else in rather than go for glory themselves. Adel could flourish in this team behind Remy if he was a little less selfish, but it seems to become more apparent every season that he isn't going to change this aspect of his game. It's a real shame.
we seem to be getting players in the box as well. i said this last week dont think it is adel fault as such just seem to play better as a team with out him, at the mo
Err how many opportunities has he been given to do just that? Plenty and bar the odd genius moment he's been a massive let down again. Got a feeling there will be at least one more magic moment from him before the season is over.
possible that we wont see him play for us again, be a shame if that was the case but all that matters is winning games at the minute
I was thinking this too, that perhaps it was Taarabt, a muslim teetotaller, had spilled the beans on the boys well deserved night, and this is 'Arry's pay-back. Based on our form the last couple of games, why would 'Arry want to disturb a winning (literally) formula by introducing Taarabt into the mix. I'm sure he will still play some sort of part in our nine remaining games.
As promised, I will not comment on Adel (good or bad) until the end of the season. I deliberately didn't read this thread.
Agreed ................. If Adel can't be a team player because his attitude stinks, he may as well be an impact player and flash some of that brilliance, whilst we still play another player, bettered suited to team work, for the majority of the match. Adel might not like it but tough titties to him, we don't like his attitude, but hey, we have to put up with him and his skirt-boy antics. It's all about what's best for the Harry & the team as a whole.
How long is it since we've seen a team performance as good as that yesterday? The formation was a surprise but so effective and much more in keeping with the classic 'Harry-style' team that relies on pacy wingers doing the damage. I think it's now beginning to fall into place for Harry and the team is looking much more a team than a bunch of individuals. Villa will be a really tough one and I'd happily take a draw now...
You are right that figure was banded around and what's more its very close to his value. He is injured and would of played a part in yesterday's match IMO. He is still our best runner of the ball and possibly one of the best in the league still. The world may not be fully switched onto Taarabt yet but they will be as he has the best amount of natural talent in a football I have seen so i will always continue to back him. I am looking forward to the day when i am proved 100% right. What yesterday showed to me is that we have a very good squad that I have always believed in through thick and thin .. i am proud of that
It's a squad game and he's part of the squad. As Rooney's omission from the Madrid game showed, no one is sacrosanct. Harold's selections have confused me but they seem to be working, so what do I know? For the purposes of my entertainment I would like to see an on form Adel every week, but to be honest I enjoyed yesterday's game more than any over the last 2 seasons - we played with intent, moved the ball quickly and usually accurately and fully deserved the win.
