well done TC. Great effort. Some of you may be wondering why i've not had more input. Well. User error i'm afraid. I had done a rather extensive write up but had to send it in 4 parts. The only one that actually sent was part one. I only checked when I noticed my thoughts weren't up there past the first day. TC kindly offered to add my bits and bobs to the thread but i think he's done more than enough already and most importantly i'd not saved my work because I thought the messages would have retained the info. A school boy error i'm sure you'll agree. Anyway. The most important pieces of info I have for my follwers is that First Lieutenant is the bet of the week at 4/1 each way in the Ryanair. There was extensive analysis of that race, the Gold Cup and the Neptune. Pont Alexandre and First Lieutenant are my most hopeful and confident selections past the rather mammoth Simonsig, Quevega and Sprinter Sacre treble I placed when NRNB came out.
Tippy my fault mate it didn't send for some reason! Gutted as I'd put some effort into that ha! Nevermind, and good effort boys!
This was largely reflected in the other less presitigous Cheltenham preview nights held the length and breadth of the county stick. I'm sure the love will come thick and fast around 1.40pm on Tuesday though
A great study Toppy - cheers for all your editing SBC suggested that "surely only a lunatic would bet against Sprinter Sacre" Well every forum has one of those
I think we will need to revise alot of our views in light of the prevailing ground conditions - looks like it will be soft at best the whole week. You're going to be needing stamina over speed ...............
Great write ups from the lads and you all deserve a pat on the back for your efforts... Some interesting points and some, as always, i do agree with and some i dont...!!! I think a lot of you wrote it with the idea of good or maybe good to soft conditions in mind, that my change now. We may well be looking at soft at best, or that sticky tacky stuff the riders describe so often this year. It may well change some of the bets for the week as you can do nowt about any Ante Post bets now... Superb effort by all, it just makes the coming week seem so close yet seem so far away... & to all who contributed... And one last congratulations to Toppy for all his work in collating the writes ups... Top effort Toppy my man...
Looking forward to Friday. The year before last I picked 5 winners on the last day and was over the moon
Reading back over my previews now with the benefit of hindsight and largely my selections weren't too bad, certainly compared to last years! A few I flagged up ended up winning different races, which I backed on the day, like Back in Focus and At Fisher's Cross and even ended up backing both Bob's Worth and Sir de Champs in the Gold Cup. Pity I didn't back Solwit in the World Hurdle though who was the only one I flagged up here but all in all a very good week. Collectively I'd say that was a pretty fine effort from Team Not606
