Just got back from the game. Shocking conditions for the players. It looked really difficult to pass it 5 yards in the middle during the second half.

A good but not spectacular performance.

Jayrod was excellent as was Shaw. Cork and Morgan did well again and Jos and Fonte handled their frontline well. Apart from a couple of balls whipped across the goal, they didn't really threaten as a home side.

    Lovely Boruc, good lad.

We should have had them dead and buried but hey ho, bring on Liverpool.

Even on the live streaming, the conditions looks very poor but at least we continued to try and play our game

You really think Shaw was excellent? Was his worst game in the PL for me. He did well going forward but didn't get back quickly enough (and was given an earful by the coaching staff at one point for this) and gave away a penalty (and on another day it could have been two)!

He was a constant threat to them coming forward. To be honest PTF he defended well in the first half as it was in front of me, but I couldn't see his defensive side second half as I was near the front and he was diagonaly opposite me. He still did well going forward in the second half.

Several Norwich fans have said to me how he tore them apart down that side.

Haven't seen the penalty challenge in detail.

He was a bit dodgy defensively second half, but not his worst game in the Prem, that's got to be Newcastle.

On Sky, they said Holtlooked for Shaw then made the foul. Never a penalty is what was said. Shaw will learn from this.

And Luke won't even be able to buy Boruc a pint to thank him. :(

Penalty for me was as soft as they come, though I didn't think it warranted the outrage from our players, but that was probably caused by a combination of how late in the game it was, the delay in giving it and possibly a bit of protecting our young Lukeywuke. Bit of inexperience showing from Shaw which he should learn from, in reality he barely would have altered Holt's stride but if you put a hand on an opponents back in the box they are going to go down, especially daft when they are going away from goal.

I thought Shaw was good going forward and reasonable defensively, feel like it was very much a gameplan for him to crack on, Jos was always out there covering and at times we almost played with a back three, but this caused him to get caught out with yards to make up on his man a few times.

Just got back and I have never been so angry with a referee as I was today. But what a penalty save from Boruc. Give him a new contract please Cortese!

Oh yes good point DTLW, Yoshida's defending with those two last ditch challenges was world class. And that's not an exaggeration. I thought he did really well considering he was played out of position.

It was a mixed bag for him. His passing was poor at times. His crossing was awful (but he is a centre-back).

His tackling was decent and he never allowed his man to get too much space. However we couldn't get as much momentum down the right.

This was mirrored in our use of the left flank, and the combo of Rodriguez and Shaw popped up often down that side.

However, Maya saved us twice with great bits of work. Ultimately, he came up trumps when needed.

Yep. Maya has a tendency to make a mess out of the easy, but he also makes some spectacular challenges. Keep the ball away from his feet at all times and avoid the defender-on-defender mishaps and he'd be pretty classy.

I think so too. And as far as I'm concerned he's been a pretty good buy for £2m.

Thought we really missed our clyne/punch combo on the right today. Why ugly and not punch as the early sub? Don't get me wrong, am a ugly fan but punch has been one of our best players this season.
