Before he came in and we were watching ****e football under McClueless a clean sheet was impossible, In fact I used to go into the game saying we're already 1-0 down. How the hell has he got Tangs and Fonts playing like Pique and Puyol, They look like nothing can get past and again Heaton was hardly tested. 3 CLEAN SHEETS IN A ROW............ say it again seriously, 3, Yes 3! Clean sheets in a row. unbelievable Credit to the midfield also, Marvs playing great as is Kelly. Both run around like they are on unlimited energy, Pearson has got remarkably better and Kilkenny had one of his best games today. Adomah looks like he now understands our new style of play and now all our our game doesn't rely on him. Great finish and I don't think I could of been sat in a better place to see it. One man that certainly stands out though......... Sean O'Driscoll. Well done Jon Lansdown. The board should of acted a lot quicker in sacking McInnes as it was clear in November/December he couldn't turn it around but my god, You can actually see SODs intelligence in the players, If that makes sense, You can see what he has told every player. I guarantee you he isn't a manager who speaks to the players as a group but speaks to them individually. Great man and he could see us out. Another double today as well
Agree with everything you say EXCEPT the sacking of McInnes. We had to find the right replacement - not accept just anu other manager. Read what the Swansea supportersd said on another thread. Its all about the right man in charge. When SoD became available we acted. As we would have done if another class manager had come available. But in November/December there wasnt the kind of manager we wanted available. Simples.
Shiny, if the board acted much quicker we wouldn't have got Sean - he was doing well at Forest (as I pointed out on another post) and wouldn't have turned his back on them to join us. Ironically, the timing is key to the fact that he came here. Fantastic result again today with another clean sheet too. A real 6-pointer next at Wolves though - can we keep it going? We need a cushion because Posh and Barnsley have games in hand.
Another very good result and another small move upwards. We seem to have limited Boro to very few goalmouth chances so well done everybody. As I posted during the match, the Radio Bristol commentator was absolutely awful - kept drifting off to unrelated subjects like a big discussion about Perth in West Australia solely because that's where the Boro captain hails from. Who the hell is interested in that, when there is a match going on. I could hear the crowd but he told us little about what was going on. Some results for and some against - what the heck are Leicester doing lately? They can't win a raffle with the only ticket. Wolves had Ward sent off so won't be playing against us next week. I've seen us at Molineux a few times and only on my first visit back in 1966 have I seen us get anything out of them. Come on lads and go there and win!
Great result and from what u boys are saying, we played very well. Our home form has given us a lifeline and the new found confidence in defence gives us hope. Seems that we really limited another decent side today in terms of chances and that speaks volumes. Wolves is simply a massive game. They are under pressure and it will be a hostile atmosphere up there unless we can quiet them down quickly. Hope springs eternal!
'But in November/December there wasnt the kind of manager we wanted available'. 'the timing is key to the fact that he came here' OMG - so it was the Board's master plan was it ? To allow us to get so far in the sh*t with McInnes and wait and wait and wait. F*ckin dreamland.
What they are saying is correct SoD became available on 26th Dec so we were 14 days or so later one match postponed and a win against Petersborough. I was against Del being fired because I feared we would not get anyone better, there was onlymanagers that would of maybe saved us but not improved us, until SoD became available my opinion changed and think we were maybe then a week late. Can't believe people on here thinking we should of got SoD in Novemeber He wasn't ****ing available
Had we acted before January we would of had SOD. No doubt about it. He wanted to come here, I don't know why but im so ****ing glad he did. McInnes should of been sacked after Millwall and that would of been the maximum of his stay. O'Driscoll my lord, O'driscoll. O'driscoll my lord, O'Driscoll my lord, Oh driscoll, OHHHHHH LORD, O'DRISCOLL We Shall NOT Be Moved.
Perhaps the speed of the replacement of Del was they already spoke to him? And Millwall was Jan 1st so not before Janauary He would not of left Forest for us so up until Dec 26 HE WAS NOT ****ING AVAILABLE.
I did say, even with the players we had....with a decent manager, we wouldn't be in the position we found ourselves in.......Everyone blamed the players if I recall. Just to think, we could have had SOD when Del McUseless was appointed!! Yes, well done the board and most of the deluded fans! Now that's gone......Well done SOD and the team....like I said once again, if we go down, we will go down fighting, you can't ask more than that can you?
Plus where are people getting this "we should of got SOD in November" All I said was it was clear McInnes wouldn't turn it around and it was easy to see in November/December. Plus by everyones logic if SOD wasn't sacked they would all be happy with McInnes, Honestly
ROD I know you're welsh but you cant be that ****ing stupid, It was a sarcastic comment, Hence the whistle at the end.
No read what I said earlier in this thread and months ago. I was not against getting rid of Del, what I was against was there was further ****e out at the time. Once SoD became available I wanted him I could see someone to take us forward. If I don't get some food in a minute Im going to kill someone
Its been well documented that he did not want to leave Forest, and much to his and the Forest fans' amazement was fired by the board even though Forest were on the verge of a play off position. I would like to thank the Forest board for their utter stupidity. At the time we were most of us willing Del to pull it together. We were desperate for contiuity at the time - 4 managers in 3 years had left us shell shocked. Del had taken over a well run ship at St J, and it virtually ran itself which flattered him. Although he made some great signings here, he seemed to lose the plot this term which is a real shame for him, because his best work will be attributed elsewhere now, and if we get out of the mess, players like Heaton, Kelly and Cunningham will take the club forwards looking, im sure, increasingly impressive
Del had all the right attributes to be a great manager, Only trouble was he couldn't manage the team properly. He was doing a great job with the academy, Bringing players in and keeping us up last year. I really did like the bloke but a manager will be judged on his performances, and as it stood he was even worse than millen! I thank McInnes for keeping us up, But with him he would of kept us up to take us down. SOD on the other hand next year I genuinely believe whatever league we're in we will have a good season.
No SO'D wasn't available in November and I'm glad we've got him now. But Billy Davies was - and a few people mentioned him - and he isn't doing too bad at Forest. Not saying I would rather have him - quite happy with SO'D. But to say the Board couldn't act cuz there was no-one better than McClueless available is clearly wrong. I liked him too and he clearly did good things behind the scenes but he wasn't up to it when it came to the first team. If he had gone earlier we may not be worrying about relegation even if it was BD rather than SO'D who had replaced him? Maybe???
A bird in hand etc Lets just be thankful for what we now have. There are no guarantees in football, but least now we have something that works.
