Nani's high late chest high (when jumping) challenge - deserved two reds for that. (Remember Chico) The lino needs a few hours with Sian Massey on the laws of the game. (Thinking about it I wouldn't mind a ,......)
fair play WBA won but the linesman got the off side wrong as the ball came off a wba defender, well thats football and on another day it would have gone our way...well played wba from coming from behind....on to our next game now this one is over...
I've said it until I'm sick of saying it, Ki and JdG are fcuking useless if there is any defending to do. They are flat track bullies who look the real deal when we are on top but disappear when there is some graft to do. In case anyone missed it before, WE NEED SOME MUSCLE AND ENERGY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK. They just don't have it!! We missed Leon today who doesn't have muscle but picks up the scraps that the other two can't be bothered with. I'd like to be missing Monk for the rest of the season as well. He really is awful at this level. Put Ki in there until Chico gets back and at least get some work out of him - or use Bartley. As for the disallowed goal, crap officials seem to be the norm these days. I wish that managers could be allowed to criticise their performance, when there's just cause, without getting fined. Football is fast going the way of rugby where often the referee decides who wins the game and not the teams involved. Three point gap to WBA now which could cost us a million quid or so at the end of the season thanks to that incompetent idiot with the whistle. Fuming!!
CHeated today but that said too many players were poor. AND HOW MUCH DID WE MISS LEON? Vorm awful - replace with Tremble Rangel - good Monk - improved as the game broke up but not good Ash - good but had too much to do do because central midfield was missing Davies - average but needs to be less adventurous in games like these Pablo - back to his poor level of earlier in the season (always an extravagance for ma anyway) deGuzman - poor Ki - why does he keep getting picked? Occasional decent pass doesn't warrant an automatic place Routledge - tried hard and was our best option but let down by others Michu - needs to play in one position ... awful today Moore - stepped up and scored well done, son Dyer - apart from a few touches ineffective when he cam on Lamah - warmed up a bit and scored a perfectly good goal Shechter - shechter All in all a poor performance from two officials and several Swans, this was a game we should and could have won.
I'm afraid we missed the boat, the first half! Our performance today was not there, too many poor passes, and miss timed runs. Michu disappeared for large parts of the game, and missed two sitters, then second half we just opened the midfield gates and let them through, our midfield missed Leon badly, and as for Ki and De Guzman, well the less said the better, but they had better start doing some of the dirty work, if they want to stay at Swansea. As for the linesman well, when you drop your play, the way we did today, then sods law is bound to kick you where it hurts! I'm not going to have a go at the officials, as this game should have been put to bed, first half, anyway a game to forget!................... PS: Monk is a liability we can do without, at this level! How the hell is he going to close down lukaku? get him off the pitch please.
Ivor agree with your post there, there are some very poor links to our passing game in the midfield today............
we lost because we were not good enough, its easy to blame players today who get praised the week before.. we were 1-0 up and comfortable and we threw it away, We missed leon today and that shows we are relying on him too much, We will never win every game we play and WBA edges it for going a goal down and not seeing much of the ball to changing things and pressurizing us to score two goals. The off side equalizer was a goal and the ref got it wrong and that happens in football. I said before the match that i would have been happy with a draw because the only game we have played well for quite some time was the bradford game and they are league two....blaming this and blaming that when we lose is pointless because the same players get praised when we win, so what is that all about. we played vorm today and that is the managers choice but quite a lot of us think tremmell is a far better keeper but overall apart from the first 30 minutes wba were as good as us and their pressure paid off. A draw would have been fair but it wasn't to be and i congratulate WBA for sticking to their plan and turning us over...
We werent good enough because some players didnt perform Dai therefore people are within their rights to blame them for contributing to the end result. After the opening 30 mins WBA looked more direct than us and it is clear that we missed Leon and wholeheartedly agree with Ivor re the lack of a midfiled player who can get a grip of proceedings. Some of our players had an off day as did the officials - never a penalty and of course it was a goal and all of them both players and officials can be blamed for contributing to the result. I had it down as a 2-2 and had it turned out that way then in my opinion we would have been fortunate.
Ivor, your bang on. Just got back in from the game and I'm well and truly pissed off. Our midfield were getting out muscled all the time, don't they get taught how to shield the ball. Hernandez F****** S*** argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So frustrated and don't even get me started on the officials, they were a bunch of incompetents, and thats putting it mildly. I'll post more when I've calmed down.
