When you look at the team work, spirit and togetherness today you can see why he isn't featuring under Harry.

For God's sake Upminst, do you really want to open up this can of worms again?

I can't. That he don't get to play before Park is totally beyond me - I can only guess he's injured.

Thank god park started instead of him, he had another good game (not that they're interchangable, park was a CM). You'd have to drop one of hoillet/townsend/remy/zamora if you want to shoehorn Adel into the side. It was suggested on 606 that Taraabt's agent might have been responsible for the dubai story, thus his omission from the squad.... Sounds fishy though

Looking more and more like a team and not a bunch of individuals - thought each player positively contributed today (watched a stream, so happy to defer to those that saw the 'whole' game), at the risk of sounding inflammatory (not intended), I thought we looked better balanced today.

Adel's best position is CM, and in a game like todays with M'bia or Derry behind/ alongside him he should do great!

Can't remember Adel EVER playing in a central two during his time at QPR. Thoroughly relieved that HR didn't that idea out today as would've got battered.e3

I don't think Adel has ever played in a two man midfield for us has he? I know he likes to play in "the hole", but that position isn't available to him when we're playing 442. We looked a lot better in attack with 2 proper wingers in hoillet/townsend, and two proper strikers in Zamora/Remy. Park and Mbia did a good job in central midfield combatively, which laid the foundation for those four mentioned to attack. Adel couldn't have done that job today. Considering we played some of our best football of the season today, there's no way i'd change that lineup Vs Villa.

    Fair enough.

Adel's been off the pace is recent weeks for me. I still think he can be an important player for us during the run-in and I'm hoping that his agent's not trying to make trouble. I'm assuming he was injured today, but I'm not sure he would've come on if the circumstances were the same. Still, he's a great option to have and I believe he and coaches need to work to get the best out of him.

Totally agree - we seem to have found a way of playing to our strengths - be difficult to see why 'arry would change that at the moment

sorry, that was a reply to Grifter

Adel is our most talented player. No doubt in my mind he will win us important points before this season is over. Townsend and Hoillett offer us genuine width but still a place there for Adel behind either Remy or Zamora.

Undoubtedly talented... but he is a very hot / cold character... part of the reason we love him is that he can do stuff no-one else does... but I'm more and more feeling that it isn't what we need right now. Worked in the Championship, but in the Premiership he has been generally (but not always) snuffed out and it then seems to leave us with little else. We seem rely on him too much when he plays, and if I'm honest, he's just too selfish with the ball and loses possession too often. The fact that we have benefitted from his selfishness doesn't negate the fact that we have played better as a team in the last couple of games when he has not been available/dropped. We have looked a threat, scored goals, (5 in 2 as opposed to 19 in the previous 27 - I think) and been able to get men up in support and into the box.

I'm not going to get in a flame war... I respect the opinions of others too much here, but I'm starting to believe that we can better use him as an impact sub - when we just need that flash of brilliance that he can provide (I'm thinking West Ham at LR or his second against Fulham). Whether he would be happy to play that way is another thing altogether, but it might just be the best way forward at this time and in the position we find ourselves in.

Fishy is right. I'd stick to what Arry tells the world, rather than what buzz surrounding. Still, I miss seeing Adel out there.

We looked a good team today. Passed it around nicely. The mid-2 of Park/Mbia worked quite nicely as well.

There are a few games where a piece of brilliance could make an impact... Everton; Arsenal and Liverpool matches I can see Adel featuring. But other matches, where teamwork, and team performance matters, I see Adel on the bench now at best (and I am a fan of Adel's amazing skills).

Adel is an important member of the squad, he will be important in the remaining games. But why wasn't he on the bench? This is worrying.

You're right, Harry said in his press conference that both Taraabt and Traore were injured! I guess that explains that!
