"I smell a rat" is just an expression I wasn't calling you one! I just think it's odd that you would only ever comment on Boruc. It's quite unusual for someone to be that obsessed by one person to the extent they defend him on a forum and never comment on any other topics.

Yes i am well aware it is an expression. I didnt suggest you were calling me one. Last time i checked in a world of free speech i am entitled to my opinion. Does not make me 'obsessed by one person' . It intrigues me the difference from how he was viewed in italy and now back in england but then in england everyone is aware of his tabloid reputation from his celtic years. It isnt to 'defend him on a forum'.

I dont care if you get relegated or win the epl. I just find the goalkeeping merry go around interesting and it happens to involve a guy that by default ive followed his career for last 7 years thus have seen him at his worst and his best and think if you have that quality when he is on top form as a club you should utilise it. Get him fit and match ready and see what happens

I also don't think Gazza is useless but he is young and needs to go on loan to a decent club in championship and learn his trade but again that is my opinion and adkins if he sticks by him will either find he has a keeper that can get him 10 points in season or cost them 10 points but only time can tell if he chooses to stick with him

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, just as I'm entitled to ask you about your motivations, but I'm sorry if I offended you.

The fact you haven't commented on anything else does suggest you are obsessed though, surely you can see where I'm coming from?

And why does your profile say you're a saints fan?

Well after our keeper got sent off on saturday, us Gills fans saw the first league appearance of Tommy Forecast! His first piece of goalkeeping was to pick the ball up out of the net after another former Saint James Beattie (remember him?) scored from the penalty spot. But I can report after that he kept a clean sheet ;) He is also set to start next saturday in our FA Cup 2nd Round match away to Preston North End. If he does well you might want to recall him <laugh> but stick with Gazza, he will be top class!

Oh dear, poor you! It's going to be a rugby score at Preston. On the plus side, at least Forecast doesn't have to play a whole league game! As for Gazza, he made a world class save yesterday. Brilliant piece of goalkeeping. Now sort out your handling and command of the box Gazza!

I think Gazza will have gained huge confidence from that save and a clean sheet. We have to remember he's taken a huge step up in class and pace. No disrespect to Gillingham.

I also enjoy how frequently Gazzaniga's shoelaces seem to come undone when we are protecting a lead.

Would be interersting to see if the vote would be even more clear cut after a clean sheet. Boruc not even on the bench!

I would ultimately rather have Boruc in goal but Gazza deserves to keep his place for now. I don't know how Boruc has been doing in training but presume that he is coming into full fitness. I back Nigel 100% and feel he made the right decision in starting Gazza, if there is a drop in his form though I would like to see a fit Boruc come in for him.

Gazza has a lot to prove still particularly with his positioning, decision making, and command of the area. Boruc however has has at one time proved to be world class in the art of goalkeeping, perhaps he can reignite that form, let's hope so as goalkeeper is clearly our weakest position.
