Tut tut! DL, are you suggesting that I might be on the WUM? That's a disgraceful accusation to level at me!* *But to answer your question, I was rather hoping to reel in some juicy Gooner-Fish, but the river appears to be somewhat depleted of supplies, this evening!
Well,it's all coming right at the right time in the Europa isn't it? For me we are still falling short by one goal in our matches but if we can stop them in Milan we stand a good chance of getting to the final. We started with draws and then a close win and a draw and now a win with daylight. We are steadily improving which is the right way to go. Some of you are far more confident about Sunday's match than I but I feel this match is more pivotal for Liverpool than it is for us and they'll be up for it. Again I hope we score first. A defeat for Pool brings their season crashing down whereas a loss for us doesn't. A draw is no disaster either but a win would give us what we want, the CL. Come on Tottenham, battle hard, play like you did last night.
I am confident for next Thursday. Not only can I not see Inter getting much from our defence, which looks about as organised as any Spurs team since arguably the early 80's, but I can see them conceding again - Bale or no Bale. As for Sunday - lot less confident. Big game for the Mousers and they are starting to pull their team together. Always a difficult place to go with another rabid, delusion crowd. Would take a point if it was offered and move on to the next game. However, I don't imagine that their confidence is exactly strong yet and of we do get the first goal then I can see this Spurs side grinding out a win. Have a lot of faith in this group of players!!
I said in the inter thread yesterday or the day before, that i wasn't worried about last night. The more I thought about it, the more I became confident that last night's result was very likely. But, I totally agree with you re Liverpool, TMT. Liverpool have got much better over the last couple of months and their football has been brilliant recently. There's no denying that they've got players who can hurt us. We're playing great at the moment and we're full of confidence and team spirit. Unfortunately these runs don't last forever and we're long due a defeat. I'd happily take a draw at Anfield right now.
Interesting cup tie today: Everton on the wrong end of a 0-3 at home against Wigan!! Wigan outfought them and were good value for the win. Wonder how that will affect the Toffees for the rest of the season? Hopefully, they will take a similar attitude when they visit us in a couple of weeks. This result wil put a lot of pressure on Wigan as well - combining their usual relegation-battle season conclusion with a possible FA Cup final to think about.
Why is he out on bail? He's more likely to do a runner than Bayern Munich are to knock the goons out of Europe this season. It's the perfect excuse for him to get out of Manchester.
