It seemed like a good idea at the time lads but that's me done with the Liverpool-Man Utd banter thread, can't be doing with the **** being posted on there, no wonder those particular posters are banned from our board
Don't EVER post on there, some are alright but I can't be bothered with the amount of **** some of them spout, it's tiring... I was reading the other day on the Gerrard appreciation thread that none of them obviously care and they were laughing about it all, they want the particular posters to bite and it works. If the Banter thread was left to the Mancs it won't even be used. Every conversation on there (and most conversations with Mancs in general) just end up in slanging matches, you really wouldn't think that they were grown men with families, they act like spilt little children. Don't blame you though, I gave up on it ages ago.
Completely agree, that School guy is pissing me off too. He thinks its alright to derail a thread, then can't debate properly and goes on a strop. He's like a ****ing child.
I've had some good discussions with KingEric, Swarbs and a couple of others on there a few times, the banters used to be decent too. But, as you rightly said, certain posters just use it as a battle ground, especially now its on the Man Utd board and a lot of the trouble makers are allowed on it again, of course, some of our trouble makers won't be now too

Yeah him, despise people who won't listen to another sides of an argument though. Whats the point in a debate if you're going to repeat the same **** over and over?
We must be the most Wummed board on this forum too, I like the fact that our MODS are safe and don't go banning people willy nilly, they don't get enough praise IMO
Yeah, I know what you mean We are but we have six MODs and I don't think we are over subscribed with users (signed up Liverpool fans) either, balances out really. Not sure if Ze will agree with me but there has not been a great deal to do over the last couple of weeks
Yeah the last few weeks have pretty tame in terms of posters from other boards, but the Utd posters have got worse.
I agree with you on the fact we don't have a lot of Liverpool supporters on here either, but for example the Spurs mods delete your posts and will ban you in seconds if they don't agree with what you're saying. Also Swarbs said the other day to NOF that he's surprised he's able to come on our board still and hasn't been banned so it clearly shows that we're very lenient when it comes to banning people, which like I said is a good thing, everyone deserves a second chance. But they also have to understand that closing down the Banter Thread was the best thing for this board, whether they liked it or not, but instead they say there slagging off Ze, it just pissed me off.
I don't mind Swarbs, I've not seen him do too much wrong apart from the odd sarcy wum. Bit **** that Ze's getting all the **** when I raised the issue with the other MODs. Ze obviously did the honours though. I just requested for NOF to be banned (again, after discussions), as he noticed yet?
Just been looking through the banter thread, there are posters from both sides causing problems there are 1 or 2 from our board that think that the banter thread is somewhere to go where you can rip into Utd, the question is are they right? If yes then it will get nasty and bans will fly back and fore if it's supposed to be friendly banter and a bit of ribbing when a team loses then this needs to be communicated.
As long as it doesn't spill on to our board then they can rip into Utd on their board as much as they like for all I care. We've had to put up with it on our board for literally years and its about time their board has to put up with it. Gives their mods something to do apart from sit back and join in with the rest of their members.
I don't really care myself I'll just carry on as usual. Just looking for a solution to the problem, at the end of the day though some people just need to grow up, we shouldn't have to talk about this crap.
Exactly, though I fear the United fans are by far the worst at the moment. I sympathised with them when KPR or Bazray was here, but he's gone now so they have no excuses. As for abuse towards me: I couldn't care less what they say, if they want to take the piss out of students then they're going to offend most of this site's audience.
I'm sure you'll deal with it in the usual way. There's always going to be a certain amount of tension between the 2 boards and there are always members of either side who will go too far. At the end of the day you don't have to stay on a thread and argue the toss just move on.
I have to agree with Ze, it's time that their Mods did some work . Luv, is promoting the voice of reason but I strongly doubt that it will be listened to for more than a short while. My preference would be for both boards to operate separately for a while. If you want to visit then do so but in the knowledge that you are operating in a 'foreign' environment and subject to the attitudes that exist over there. So no use complaining over here about being banned over there for something you believe would be acceptable over here. Similarly no use them objecting to being banned over here for saying things that we find unacceptable. We are all old enough, ugly enough and experienced enough to fight back when we think that we have been hurt/slurred, etc. but for me it was the constant 'haunting' of our board that really got to me.
