Morning everyone. Here's the first update of the new Ferrari: please log in to view this image It appears they've gone down the McLaren route of having a longer chord (flap) - which is odd, because they said they were trying to improve more in qualifying, and I thought the McLaren DRS performed better in the race but was less effective in qualifying. Also a bit strange because they had a similar design when they first launched the car and then for the final test, they changed to the one they had in Turkey. Maybe they have picked up on something important here, because they had 2 tests here, one with the longer chord and one that was a lot smaller. In addition, they also have an additional slit on the endplate.
Excellent work, FF. You're our own notScarbs. If Ferrari consider the Red Bull to be out of reach in qualifying then it does make some sense for them to try to maximise their race pace given the step forward they took in Turkey. Perhaps this solution works better for them on this circuit with a race setup.
Maldonado is terrible, I reckon Williams will end up spending all that Venezuelan oil money on car damage.
Maldonado .... No wonder Patrick Head is retiring. I bet Williams are regretting this: http://en.espnf1.com/virgin/motorsport/story/41754.html Anyone think McLaren have a bit too many updates to test this weekend?
I'm not rich enough but if I was a betting man, I would be betting on Maldonado to keep retiring first and get ã60.
I'll get back to you on Sunday If they pull it off they'll be hero's, if they take them all off then the answer to your question will sadly be yes
I dont understand.. Maldonardo didnt seem like a bad driver in GP2 and I thought he would be ok in f1 but he is really struggling
Maybe Barrichello is better than we give him credit for? That Williams looks like a dog to drive, hopefully their updates will all be up and running for Canada.
I have no doubt he is a good driver considering his age though williams need a driver to be the new top dog as Rubens is only in to develop the car and not a long term prospect
Williams are in danger of falling into the bottom 3 which will make getting a talented driver difficult. Maybe they'll take another punt on a gp2 driver next year.
Is it ok to post stuff like this to indicate at a glance, in the thread, where we are in the weekend? Red Bull are in it to win it by the looks of things. please log in to view this image Scarbs notes that the pic in that Autosport report includes, "a pic of the RB7 new rear wing vanes." Hamilton - a loose seat? How do McLaren manage to dress themselves in the morning? Early days yet but FF could well be right about their ten-to-twelve updates.
