According to the Sun Nigel Pearson will be sacked if we lose tommorow. They did call Sven's sacking first If this is true then I will lose faith in the owners. Looking at the latest figures I along with others are a little worried how they are running the club but this would take the biscuit. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...gel-Pearson-could-be-sacked-by-Leicester.html
Come Tuesday night we could be 7 points off top If the owners pull the trigger then they have lost the plot. We have to get up and this is our best chance in a very long time.
I don't really believe what the Sun says to be honest. Must be a slow news day. I would be VERY disappointed if we sacked Pearson now, regardless of tomorrows result. He deserves until the end of the season at the very least, and even if we dont' go up this season, he needs a fair crack at next season too. We need stability. Chopping and changing does not help.
Agree, no manager will come in and improve our league position this year, sacking him would almost be like conceding that we will be in this division next year.
Until we get rid of high earners like Konchesky, Wellens, Gallagher, Danns, Beckford, St. Ledger then the new man will just be in the same boat. We will just have ruined what we have started and wasted even more money
I don't think it's ever a good idea to get rid of a manager at this stage of the season - really too late for a new manager to make significant changes and the de-stabilisation can make things worse. In our relegation season from the Premier League we had a run in with some very winnable games and a reasonable chance of survival but Phil Brown was replaced by Iain Dowie and results( which were not great to start with) took a real dive.
It could be worse @SkySportsPeteO: Coventry City have appointed Falkirk boss Steven Pressley as their new manager. #CCFC
It would be crazy to get rid of Pearson at this stage of the season. Paulo Di Canio name has been mentioned though!!!! along with every man and his dog!!!
personally I think a change of manager now would be a mistake - but I have also posted on these boards more than once recently that I believe Pearson is under immense pressure - our owners come across as 'nice smiley Thai types' perhaps - but they are very successful businessmen and neither Sousa nor Sven were given very long to 'deliver' .... both of those sackings were badly times as far as I'm concerned .. just as sacking Pearson now would be .... ... Paulo Di Canio may even have been approached already ... not sure which of the favourites, Di Canio, Mourinho or Guardiola I would favour at this stage ....
This is why I would be all in favour of the much-vilified "Director of Football" role at Leicester, or similar 'consultant'-type position. Sure, the owners are wealthy, successful businessmen with plenty of financial clout and nous. But I strongly believe that there are too many of these types of people involved in English football atm who, despite their positives, have very little understanding that football is a law unto itself sometimes, and what applies in the business world doesn't always apply in football. What I think would be beneficial would be someone to liaise with the owners who has bags of experience within football, who would have the wherewithal to speak up and say that they believe that history has told us that a decision that the owners are keen to make is probably likely to do more harm than good. Someone to explain a little bit about the history of English football, the success stories and the different methods used to achieve this success. Like I said before, I know this sort of role is usually much maligned and vilified, but I think (presuming the right person is selected) that a number of clubs would benefit from having somebody alongside their owners in this sort of position, Leicester included.
So who would the owners go for IF this is true Nigel Adkins, Michael Appleton (he hasnt had a new job in a few weeks) Roberto Di Matteo, Paolo Di Canio or a manager in work? I would back stick with NP but if the owners did sack him Nigel Adkins would top the list for me
Just been on Radio Leicester news as well. Owners apparently held a meeting last night where the threat of dismissal was made. Dont like the idea of a Director of Football, and I dont think many managers would like well meaning interference from them either. Whilst I agree that the timing is dreadful, am pretty sure the owners will be asking why the team has not produced when the pressure has really been on. Also, why we sign one of the most promising strikers on loan and play him on the right wing. If I had invested £100m in the club, I would want some serious answers.
Who would you be happy with if he were to be sacked? Probably only Di Matteo would please me enough and we'd have no chance.
As someone's already said, I'd lose all faith in the owners if Nige gets the boot, and become completely disenchanted with football in general.
