Just read his interview in the BEP. He really rates Elliott and Skuse and it looks as though (injuries providing) he wants them to be our starting CM's

You have to let Marvin play the way Marvin wants to play. He gives you a presence in midfield and Cole gives you a little bit of quality
“You have to let Marvin have his head to a degree. He breaks so many things up. Sometimes, he is in the wrong position and you think ‘my God, he has still done a good job.’

“He leads by example, he never gives up and he is a threat in both boxes. That is what you want from your captain.

“He is somebody who did not start in the 11 when we first came through the door, but then the injury to Cole gave him his chance and he has never looked back. He has been outstanding."

Cole is very intelligent for a footballer and he understands quite a few things. In fact, there are quite a few of them like that, which has surprised me.

Where does that leave Liam Kelly? Wide right?

Maybe he wants a 3 man midfield

I like'd it when Kelly played right side of the midfield with Anderson floating left and right to help and Baldock also dropping right when needed
out you could have it lining up
    Kelly Skuse Elliott Anderson or

    --------------Heaton-------------
    Maloney -- Tangs--Fontaine---Cunningham
    ----------Kelly--Elliott--Skuse---------------
    Baldock------------------------Anderson
    ---------------Stead/Davies------

Can't believe I'm picking a prefered team with Fontaine and Nyatanga <laugh>

Good Team rod but perhaps a front 3 like this

    Anderson
    Baldock/Stead/davies

I was actually thinking SOD can make stead sit infront of the midfield and act as more of a CAM than striker. This will make room for Davies to come in up front and still keep his 5 man midfield.

    ----------Heaton
    Moloney Tangs Fonts Cunningham
    --Kelly Elliott Skuse Anderson
    ----------Stead
    ----------Davies

Only 'til the season ends and he can start building a new defence - hopefully a Championship one

How the tide of player worth has changed down BS3 way. Not long ago most of us/you were condemning players for their lack of effort and commitment to the shirt and now some of those berated players are first team choices every week.

It often makes me wonder as to how you motivate these guys and put their collectives heads back in the real world when effectively that's why we're paying them in the first place. I fully understand them when they say they play better in certain formations and along side others but if they are paid as professionals then should they not expect to recieve orders contrary to their own thoughts and fall in to place like everyone else?

Finally this season we appear to have our house acting in a more acceptable way and credit to those players who have taken Sean's philosophy to heart and returned to the same world as the vast majority of their faithful followers.

One noticable absentee from your new "love in" list is Albert Adomah and that doesn't surprise me at all. I lost all faith in the guy when he disappeared down south to that annual cup job, come winter break, for all the players struggling with the cold weather back at base. I know he scores the odd goal here and there but generally, from the limited times I have seen him, he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off and finally disappears up his own rear end. Not so sure he's the great asset some consider him, so his time to move on has come, and don't expect teams to break their bank accounts to get him. I think he has become like so many other wannabe stars who believe that they should be in a better place but sometimes that over enthusiasm comes back and bites.

Nonetheless good luck to him, but more importantly good luck to your team of choice in keeping us up where we belong.

Albert still has to fully adapt to the way S O'D wants him to play he is some way behind the other players in that sense but I expect he will adapt I don't think the fans have fallen out of 'love' with him it's a case of S O'D has managed to get the other players playing so much better he isn't getting on the pitch as much to make an impression at the moment. Anderson says he prefers to play on the left even though right footed(but will play anywhere so long as he plays) Adomah on the right by preference should we get the defence better organised we could find a team playing more like 4 3 3 next season with Skuse Kelly and Marv as the midfield 3 and the front 3 with 2 wide players supporting one central striker rather like we play now without the ball 4 5 1, but with both wide men being more attack minded than work horses(Anderson, Adomah, Davies) as opposed to (Pearson Foster Kelly) it would make for more exciting football and would keep round pegs in round holes and square pegs in square holes.

It wasn't that long ago that we were talking about McInnes this way.

If we're not at the top of League 1 next season then we'll probably be calling for SOD's head in the next 8-10 months.
