I was thinking that star players of certain clubs would be up there or clubs with stand out stars but the top five is made up of three Man Utd and two Liverpool (fair enough, its our two top names)! Shame its in percentages and no actual figures are provided
That's what I was saying, I expected it to be the main players of certain clubs but its just not. I can understand Man Utd and Liverpool players being that high since we have the biggest following (I'm assuming these figures are worldwide) especially with us not having an abundance of star players too. However, its simply not like that when you look beyond those two clubs. Looking at the list in a little more detail, I suppose it mostly makes sense: RvP, Gerrard, Suarez and Rooney are explain above. Kagawa is expected because of the Asian market. Hazard was a massive signing and was probably expected to be a star player. Scholes, I would guess this is fans getting his shirt whilst they still have chance. Torres - WTF? Kun Aguero is slightly expected after last season goal scoring exploits. Podolski is a bit like Hazard. So basically, just Torres!
Was really shocked to see Torres on there, not so much anyone else, although Podolski was a bit a surprise. Decent player but to be in the top ten is a bit surprising! Thought Walcott would be more likely to sell more shirts than Podolski, but obviously not!
But that's what I am saying. You would expect the star players of bigger clubs to be in there. Podolski was Arsenal's big summer signing and they isn't an abundance of players challenging the 'star man' title either, therefore I would have imagined that LP would be the run away leader at Arsenal giving a chance of making the PL top ten too. Torres is the obvious stand out one but I find it almost equally surprising that there are four Man Utd players in the list, that's some going in shirt sales, especially with RvP getting over a quarter of sales on his own! However, two are self explanatory (RvP and Rooney), one is brilliant commercial work (Kagawa) and another sentimental (Scholes).
He's their biggest summer signing but he never starts, dunno why Giroud plays every game for, seems pretty average.
