I'm not ignoring any parts. If you feel that it warranted a red, fair enough, but its with attitudes like that that will see football become less and less of a physical game as players will be too scared to to tackle or go near a high ball because they will be sent off! And the challenge on vidic was exactly the same as Nani's. You're saying the keeper didnt try to punch vidic... well nani didnt try to kick arbeloa! it was an accident in both cases going for the ball. And not being able to see it through vidics head? Give it a rest! there was a linesman and one of them useless ****s that just stands behind the goal! The ref saw it too but gk's get too much protection. The incident in itself though was equally as severe as Nani's.
To be honest with you BBF, I'd much rather you came on here and said "You lot were done. Deal with it"instead of all this 'By the letter of the law' bull. All the majority of fans want is for referees to ref the game with a bit of intelligence and not 'by the letter of the law'. If that was the case overhead kicks would be banned. I'd much rather listen to honest opinions from people who've played the game: - Former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann on Sky Sports: "He wants to bring it down, I think no Real Madrid player expected it, nobody was claiming a red card. He didn't see him he didn't mean to do it, it's not even a booking." "I watched the game the other day and I am not a supporter of Manchester United or Real Madrid, but it should never, ever have been a red card. A yellow card maybe, but a red card? Absolutely not. I don't think it matters whether it's a referee in the Premier League, La Liga or a Champions League game. It was just a bad decision. Referees are human and make mistakes - there is no problem with that - and sometimes it goes against you. But we are allowed to say when a referee gives a poor performance, and that was a very poor decision." Brian Laudrup
on a very rare occasion big decisions go against united and the problem is that when this happens no body can deal with it from your manager to the bias media all the way down to the spoilt by to much success united fans.
Lucky.I can take the decision, but in my opinion it's a bad one.Yep, we got done, **** happens. But people trotting out this"He had his foot raised "crap to try and back up their point are the same twats who moan when their star striker gets sent off for taking his shirt off after he's been booked and scored a goal.
The ref has the important job of interpreting the rules, and it is extremely rare to see to see the rule applied EXACTLY, or no game would ever finish with more than 2 a side. If he does it once he has to do it every time, and that's not going to happen. My point is that BOTH incidents were similar, and don't care what photo you post, in real time, it was a nano second from an accidental collision. Yellow at best by most competent refs. However my main point is that the ref was lousy all game, to both sides, as too many are in European competitions. Apart from Collina, circa 1908, have not seen a good one again.
I agree with the OP, these refs in Europe are very poor. There have been so many incidents, with English clubs in particular where the refs have made major errors. Obviously your lots game with Barcelona, and also RVP getting sent off against Barcelona for Arsenal for kicking the ball half a second after the whistle. Our game was another example of poor refereeing, not forgetting how poor the referee was in the first leg. Evra was 1 on 1 with the keeper, and there young centre back clearly brings him down and the ref plays on. That was with 40 minutes to go aswell. It's funny aswell how all theses dodgy decisions are always going in the favour of the Spanish giants
There are good referees out there, but even the best can only do so much. Every referee is going to be prone to mistakes, just like players and managers are. Even Pierluigi Collina made big mistakes during his officiating career. The things is that whilst mistakes from managers and players are part of the game, everyone wants the officiating to be 100% spot on. This is not possible and never will be. What we can do though is get as close to the 100% mark as we can, but this will mean the introduction of more technology in order to help the officials. However many people are against this. If you are against it then you should shut up and put up with refereeing errors. If you are for it then you have a right to air your grievances.
I'm all for it, I watch a lot of rugby and it works very well. Call me a cynic, but the main reason Septic Bladder is against it is because matches cannot be rigged by officials when the cameras are used. Oh to look into the Bank accounts of FIFA officials.
Nothing to do with the arrogant Dutch prick losing it and kicking it away in temper then? How far will you morons go to defend senseless acts like the disgusting vile tackle by Nani the other night.
