Five Live had just reported that they've heard there is to be a merry-go-round is due to happen this summer: Rooney to Man City Dzeko to Dortmund Lewandowski to Man Utd Can't see it somehow! Just before that, they were talking about Rooney going to Barcelona
Moyes went from 4/1 to 3/1 after making the pro-manc comment after the Real game. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/man-utd/next-permanent-manager
Can't quite believe Guardiola is second favourite despite just taking the Bayern job. I guess thats down to not knowing when Fergie is going to call it a day though.
I think it's fair to assume his successor has already been chosen and informed of Fergie's retirement date.
Really? Unless that date is fairly soon I highly doubt that TBH. I think the Man Utd board will have made plans but I am sure that they will also be revised on at least a quarterly basis. Football is a fickle world and opinions change as quick as the wind! I sincerely doubt they would approach anyone until they feel they need to.
leaving aside my contempt for Ferguson as an individual, my dislike for the club he manages, I have to question seriously who would want to take over from him? His successor is not being handed a star-studed squad, the other stalwart of the club (Gill) will have left, the ownership problems could easily exacerbate should the health of the head of the household fail, and the club still has extremely large debts. So why risk a hard won reputation managing a club who's fortunes are more likely to wane than to rise?
It was obvious that everything Moyes said was aimed to make it easier for him to get his next job when he leaves Everton this year. But some of his comments verged on bringing the game into disrepute, and his attitude over the last few months has lost him a lot of respect.
This, any manage taking over from Fergie will have to spend a fortune, I can't stand Fergie but you gotta admit he gets far more out of that lot than any other manager would. When he goes a serious overhaul will be needed. And I gotta laugh at Rooney to Barcalona You need to be able to play football and be excellent at it to go there, Rooney's short passing and movement game although sometimes good is nowhere near the level required by Barca
That thread does not need plugging (in that sense ), its done very well without me putting much effort in And anyway, there is nothing wrong with a shameless bit of plugging
Yep, this summer - Mourinho. I've thought it all season, as he's the only man 'big enough' to take over from Ferguson in the game. His comments on Tuesday made me feel that my instinct was right.....
No need for kevlar mate. I said nothing that is not justifiable so if any of the usual culprits want to kick off then so be it. They will only be making themselves look very silly.
