It's just common sense OFH. It's a sustainable business model that only really has an issue if the teams in the group compete in the same European competition - but a simple rule can fix that. I suppose that common sense has no place with the people who "run" football in this country and Europe though!
Afternoon all Very grey and wet today. Mrs H is up in London and I ought to be doing something useful...does watching a Mastermind repeat count?
Oh great - some people only have horse meat to contend with, others have poo to contend with - what do I get? Both rolled into one.
The chief fool has been at it again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucAijNgQLY4&feature=youtu.be Think he said he doesn't do his homework.
Found out today that where I live doesn't comply with Jersey's new law regarding rental properties - they now have to have a Fire Safey Certificate. Unfortunately, the building is old and a lot of work needs doing to get it up to scratch and my landlady can't oversee the work being done as she's 86 and housebound and her daughter can't be bothered. She (the landlady, not the daughter) wants to sell the building to a developer, so I have 3 months to find somewhere else to live.
I agree with most of the comments made OFH - Holla Way is a complete knobhead Sorry to hear your news Jersey - hope you find somewhere new very quickly.
Summers coming Barry, you could put a tent up on the beach while you look for something. Hope something turns up for you.
Probably before the time of most of you on here, but I was saddened to see that Kenny Ball had died today. At the end of the 50s, beginning of the 60s he would play at Watford Jazz Club. As a teenager who had some degree of independence I used to haunt the place on a Thursday evening and wonder at the capacity of many of the musicians to still be standing at the end of the evening. This was the same period that Cliff Holton was banging in the goals every week, so for me it was one of the best periods I have had.
Just seen this http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/championship-watfords-controversial-use-loan-1748708 I didn't realise quite how much money was involved
I don't know where to put this so the Nest is as good a place as any. I thought I had got my head around the international temporary transfers that seem to be causing so much bother but then I thought about Cardiff. When a player goes to Cardiff or any other Welsh side from England I was under the impression that international clearence had to be obtained as the transfer goes throught the Welsh FA. If this is the case then why can't the Welsh teams borrow as many players as they want from English teams?

"If Watford Football Club continue their push for promotion from the Championship, you can expect the subject of this article to become widely debated." Where has this guy been for the last few months?
Morning all, grey but dry here and still very mild. Several days we have been past the 20C mark which will have the blackthorn in flower very soon. One of the best articles I can remember reading on the official site. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130307-deeney-on-new-deal-700535.aspx?pageView=full#anchored If he means what is written there he has learnt his lesson.
Morning all from a dull bandit country - hoping the sun will shine through and brighten the day up though. Nice comments from Deeney, hopefully a good lesson learnt. Thanks for the frothy AK..

Been up since 6, seeing my youngest off on her trip to Amsterdam...she's assured me she 'won't get too high, and won't get run over by a bike!'...at 13, i should blinkin' hope not on both counts! lol.
