    Then she needs to construct a mailchimp template and paste the exact banner url into position then it will appear inside email programs but some will require that the images are turned on. Think of how you send up stuff on here. Th ebanner is question however will need to be less than 600 pixels wide and usually these have to constructed by designers exactly for email purposes. The banner itself sits somewhere? to find its exact URL find in out the internet click and hold or right click and open in a new tab ... copy out the exact address line in the browser and paste that into place inside you mailchimp template. if you need the banner to also be a link then that maybe more difficult and the image will need some code tagged around it. I haven't got my mail chimp log in here but i can look tomorrow to see how easy it is or i maybe able to write you the exact code required.

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>

    <body>
    <a href="http://www.apple.com"><img src="http://www.not606.com/signaturepics/sigpic1023575_5.gif" width="500" height="100" alt="banner" /></a>
    </body>
    </html>

    above is my banner lifted from Not606 and linked when clicked to the apple homepage. The code above will work you need to replace the <a href="http://www.apple.com"> with the url in brackets and also the banner source, exact pixel dimensions <img src="http://www.not606.com/signaturepics/sigpic1023575_5.gif" width="500" height="100" alt="banner" />

    Done that (like the bloke top left in the sunglasses). Page still says "this page may not work if you have an ad blocker enabled", so the banners don't appear.
    Thanks for trying though...appreciate it.

    She can't get the banner in the first place as the page always says "this page may not work if you have an ad blocker enabled" and so the banners she wants to access don't appear.

    you can usually get the exact IMG link from the source ... Example For instance In Safari hit Preferences/Advanced and tick Show Develop menu in menu bar ... you will then be able to see what we all had for breakfast ... example Secret Rangers avatar has a url of : http://www.not606.com/customavatars/avatar1019435_5.gif

    But not the email client because anyone with good sense will block this as it lets spammers know the email is live and people are viewing it. Have a look at a spam email, they all link to a unique address like www.bigknobpills.com/buyme/fktfghfgh9fg0bgbfg09 and the last bit will be linked to your email.

    You can in fact extract all the frames, scripts including the extension scripts, stylesheets and images from not606 very easily

    Most spam filters work in a very sophisticated away even the text words : offer, sale, buy click etc will trigger them if you don't have the the right amount of text to image ratio then again block. some HTML attributes don't work within deskop and mobile mail apps again block. a image used with any email needs to come from a verified certificated domain ... if you load this onto a email marketing program a sweep is done very quickly that why it is wise to use a verified email marketing vendor. getting hard coded emails through spam filters without verification is now a very hard skill and requires a depth of knowledge and a spam filter tester. I used to hand code these to go under 0.8 which i was very proud of as well as cracking old mail programs like lotus notes. however today its this simple as you said before you cannot make people turned their images on in HTML email desktop programs. You can still tell however if it was opened and exactly record where their mouse went inside the email ... i am ashamed to reveal i used to sell this stuff

    Exactly, which is why my client blocks 3rd party images by default, if by chance they guess my email, no one will know it got through the spam filter. Oh and people should never unsubscribe from spam emails, that just lets them know its live and they sell it on.

    Thanks to Secret, Dave and Flyer for the info. Unfortunately, both of us are rather limited when it comes to computers, so I fear our friendly local computer guy will need to pop in and sort it for us. Thanks for trying.
