Ok all you computer geeks, the better half needs some help. She is trying to attach an advert to e mails etc as marketing, but a message comes up saying "this page may not work if you have an ad blocker enabled". How does she disable ad blocker please?
May depend on the web browser you are using, e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera etc. Notes for IE, the most common web browser. http://www.wikihow.com/Unblock-Pop-ups
No one in their right mind will open an attachment from an email especially marketing. Not saying your misses is doing anything dodgy but an HTML email would be better but then anyone in their right mind blocks images in emails.
Col, I read the title and pmsl....so many funny comments that i couldnt decide which one to post...opted to post none. Good luck...Ask Secret..he's a 'puter geek i think !
Flyer is correct again as an attachment is very likely to get blocked by the spam filters. I am very assured in writing html for Email programs as it IS NOT the same as usual HTML that is to stay you need to use older techniques using nested tables this is because a email program is not the same as a web browser in any way. If you are doing any email marketing then use a simple online service like mail chimp Mrs Col that is the way things are done is email. Your intended marketing targets will never see the email so use the tools on something like this: http://mailchimp.com... its easy and even Mr Col could do it ! Trust me I have done millions of them and you can see reports on who opened it. Flyer is right about images esp on a PC as i can embed anything inside a image and an attachment will be binned straight away Use the monkey it does all the hard work for you and is very cheap and professional ... makes me sick as i used to charge a fortune for getting a 95% success delivery rate by hard work and hard coding ... now anyone can do it for peanuts
It's nothing dodgy flyer. It's a link to her website that she wants to use, but she can't download it from the Company site. as ad blocker won't let her. Can anyone advise how to get rid of ad blocker on Chrome?
Pm me mate if you want a serious answer. However, two things as people have stated below, don't attach as it will be picked up as spam, my advice is to embed the image into the email, but without knowing the browser or email format you are using its difficult to give a definitive answer.
On google chrome > go to gear tab top right > settings > extensions > look for ad block ( google extension) i can send you screen shots if your stuck mate
Not just link the image either, all linked images are Blocked in most email programs. You'll have to actually send the image for peopleto see it.
Thanks. Done that, but it says AVG, NOT chrome and it says that it's already disabled. Can't find how to disable chrome ad blocker.
You are using a browser based email program? i.e. you are logging onto mail using a web browser. If so then you have zero control on what your target audience will see or how they will handle it. If you are just pasting a link into a email then I know my spam filters inside out it will get blocked unless the copy written the email is done so with absolute skill. If you just copy a link into a email without constructing the header info and body copy correctly it will become instant spam and therefore defeats the objective of email marketing. I state again if you think you can just email out to multiple email addresses and by that i mean 000's then sorry you will get black listed. if you are sending it out to a recognised verified list from a proper email say with a unique domain then you may be alright ... if it's from say [email protected] ... forget it it will fall into spam or junk or even get blocked a long time before. Getting under a spam radar required good html email code and good body copy.
or of course if it resides on webspace the correct image path will allow it to be viewed in any browser. Terry is on the case by the sounds of it
I don't think I've explained it very well (probably born out of ignorance). She is trying to get a banner from her Company's on line marketing page. She wants this to use in on line marketing or e mails to people who have agreed to sign up to her e mail list, managed by mailchimp.
Rangercol im assuming you just want to get this ad posted and figure the main issue later. do this open chrome > gear icon top right > new incognito window > use that chrome session to post your add as it disables all chrome addin
