Just noticed this while trying to check the fixtures. Great business for all concerned. Troy needs to play in a two striker formation, and *pinches self* his best chance of being a regular starter for a Premier League team is with Watford. Should we fail to go up this season or next, a big money deal will come as long as he stays in form and out of jail.
I was surprised he was captain on Tuesday night with Nosworthy in the side, but maybe he got the armband as a thank you but they weren't going to announce it then as, if I'm correct, a copy of the contract has to be filed with the FA before they can announce it.
contracts can be signed even 2 or 3 months before they're announced...i suspect this one was dealt with a while ago, when the rumours of him signing were going around...could be wrong..but...that's unlikely lol
One of the hardest working strikers Ive seen in a Watford shirt. Missed pre-season, comes straight out of prison into the matchday squad and looks just as fit/sharp as all the other players. I bet he hated it when Malky and Dyche (at the start) played him on the wing, and even though he cant play in that position he still worked hard and played like a team player.
Totally agree. And yet there were still many at the time slating him, and saying he was a waste of money! Very impatient some football fans, and quick to make judgements based on the odd 10 mins here and there. He needed a run up front. I must admit last season I could see him as the person that makes things happen rather than a goal scorer himself, but since Sordell went he has proven that wrong!

This is good for the club as Troy has been playing well since he was in prison and he could be seen as repaying the faith the club held in him. It is good for Troy as well, he has a good chance of premier league football with no real pressure to do well, as he would have had if he had been sold to Aston Villa.
Excellent news...really worked well to fit into Zola's style and system because he can hold the ball up and be physical if we need him to be.
