Dear Mr Pulis,

Just a quick note to thank you for your recent rants and disparaging remarks to and about your real employers, the supporters of Stoke City.

Firstly, I have been a Stoke City supporter for over 60 years (longer than you have been on the planet), and apart from 2 seasons in 1971/1972 my expectations have never been outrageously optimistic.

We are never going to win the Champions League, nor the Premier League, perhaps a couple of good cup runs, they work wonders for us.
I was disappointed with your attitude in the Europa, espiacally against Valencia, I do not think that you believed that we could win, so you tried to pick a team not to lose.

Which brings me to the point of this little note, MY expectations and I dare say many others:

That you pick a team of the correct players in their correct positions.
That you set the team up to try and win the game, not just at home, but away.
That you instill confidence in the team and not praise the opposition, we have earned the right to be on the same pitch as the top 6.
If you start to admit your own shortcomings and admit defeat with grace.
Oh and of course, play football.

If you do these simple tasks Mr Pulis as you have done on a couple of occasions in the past, you will be pleasantly surprised at the response from the supporters.

Yours in hope

Nick B

PS and please stop referring to 'this football club, it is Stoke City

Nick,

I feel like writing to the Sentinel as well and if we get nowt against Newcastle and WBA, it will be hard not to.

After those woeful peformances certainly at Fulham and at home to West Ham I think the team below is who should play at Newcastle.

I have read the words of Peter Coates today and am suprised by his comments about a 'thin line.' I think that the selections at present beggar belief.

Bego
Shotton Shawcross Wilson Cameron
Walters N’Zonzi Adam Etherington
Jerome Jones

If Matty is not fit he must play Shea and encourage him to attack the opposition.

I am very down and it was a long journey home last weekend and a very quiet car. The only good thing was Wigan losing 4-0 at home. Also it was good Villa lost last night! Should be thinking like that 5 years in the premier league?

I am also amazed how TP can not support the FA and fine HUth for his forearm smash on Senderos but just tell us what a wonderful signing he was! Also N'Zonzi he should have been substituted straightaway at Fulham and no way was he fit last Saturday. He should also have been sent off for teh elbow on Ruiz! For God's sake hit the right player if you are seeking retribution! Again TP's comments were quite inane!

My rant over for now!

Very disappointed at the moment.

Cheers

Hi Cris,
Hope all of your limbs are intact!!

Your skiing hols - just like Stoke's season: downhill!

Did anyine read the letter in the Sentinel tonight - sounded like you Nick!

Ooops Sorry Smithers, I did send a letter based on my post to the Sentinel.
I misread your post!

ONB,

You could send another in a Dickensian style, Bleak Expectations with Pulis as ever so orrible Heap or whatever his name was.

That would give me the Pip.
Will think about...A Tale.of Two Cities (Stoke and Swansea).

It was the best of times and the worst of times...to be continued

They seek them here, they seek them there,
