We could look very different next season.

With Carragher retiring, Skrtel, Reina and Coates linked with exits and the strong possibility of Downing leaving, our team could look very different from the one Rodgers inherited in July 2012.

Things did not really look to different player wise for Rodgers first 6 months as Rodgers summer signings Allen, Borini and Assaidi have not forced there way into the starting 11. The exits of players like Adam, Kuyt, Maxi and Carroll did not seem to change the appearance of things all that much. Youngsters Sterling, Wisdom and Suso have provided some fresh faces in the squad though.

But lately the first 11 has really began to get a new look. Sturridge and Coutinho have joined and come straight into the first 11, Jordan Henderson has reestablished himself in a new position, giving a new shape to the team, and more changes look set to follow.

I have no doubt that Rodgers has big transfer plans for the summer and if he gets what he wants we could have a very different looking team next season.

Now lets hope it is for the better.

That's ok we'll just get to see more of Borini <ok>

  5. I said a few weeks ago that I expect big changes this summer. It is the first proper transfer window for BR to work his magic on the squad.

Last summer he didn't get chance to assess the squad because of the European Championships followed by the Olympics. He bought Borini, Allen, Sahin and Assaidi without knowing the squads strengths and weaknesses or having time for a scouting network to gather any information. The January window in not the best time to operate but having had time to assess the squad his two signing seem to be much much better!

I forgot all about Sahin! Shows how well that dal worked out!

Klopp spoke about him on Football Focus on Saturday. He said he was played out of position and should been a holding midfielder, not in attack. I think he struggled with the physical side of PL football though.

  7. Problem with playing him at DM was who do you play alongside him. You need a strong physical character (Lucas) but also someone that can control the tempo and dictate play (Gerrard). To be able to play him alongside both, he had to be pushed forward slightly. We couldn't play him alongside one or the other IMO, it would leave us lacking <ok>

Directly after moving to a new club? Highly unlikely.

  10. That's nearly a good point, hasn't Suarez moved on shortly after becoming captain at each of his previous clubs?

    Thats captain, not vice captain.

Lets give it to Lucas or Agger.

Last week when your financial results came out Ian Ayre said Lfc have been the biggest spenders the last couple of windows. He also stated that anyone thinking there would be big spending in the summer will be disappointed.

  13. Something most Liverpool fans realise without Ayre speaking <ok>

Glad you studied it so closely to remind us, just in case we forgot stuff about the club we support.

    Sorry I can't reciprocate.

Anyway, we don't need big spending we never did, we need smart spending. So as G said; going by our buys after proper assessment (early days yet) I'm more optimistic than the buys at a guess during the previous summer.

Frank my comment was not really aimed at supporters such as yourself who accepts where you are and is comfortable with the sustainable progress.
My comment was aimed more at the fans who make threads each week about we need to buy x amount of players this summer.
    Thanks for the reply though.

If we're not spending cash in the summer then surely Suarez is staying?

And what the **** has that got to do with a Manc twat/WUM like you then?

You're admitting that you posted to get the attention of, or WIND UP, any Liverpool fan who things we'll spend loads of money.

I know what our budget is because the most informed people on Twitter have already said and its £20-25m plus anything we get back in sales.

Its not a war chest but we don't need that many players now so I'm satisfied with that.

FSG have spent nearly £50m this season alone, and from the accounts we knows its their money that their putting in interest free and they don't expect it back until they sell. I think they don't get the credit they deserve for that frankly.

They got ripped to shreds on TAW this evening for not spending anywhere near enough to get us back in the top 4 which I feel is a little unfair because its not as if we've had nothing.

The last few years we've been making loses every year on the accounts yet besides this FSG keep giving us their money to spend when were not making any as a business and I think they should get a little kudos for that.

Do you honestly think my reply to Frank merited a response like that?
