Parkes last night was booked receiving his 10th yellow of the season and therefore will receive a suspension. We have had a settled back 5 (including the keeper) for several games now. Do you think our Captain missing will disrupt our game for Saturday? Who would you replace him with? Woodards, McDonald, Paterson, Virgo or Lockyer?
Apparently he wasnt booked. Smith was booked! Radio commentators said he was and its recorded on bbc stats as well. But some on the OS forum says its a mistake.
Parkes himself has come out on twitter to confirm he wasnt booked... How did the commentators get that wrong as well as BBC?
IF he was booked I reckon Ward would go with McDonald, who's come on towards the end of a few matches and played well for Port Vale. Virgo is coming back from injury and would be too big a gamble.
Thank **** for that. Yeah to be honest I'm sure the commentators say he got booked. My god there useless.
Not so bad as last night's referee!! Generally he was OK, but he spoiled the match with some absolute howlers.
I don't think any of the bookings were justified, including Exeter's. It was a well fought game, but in no way dirty; and a quiet word on each occasion should have been enough.
I'm just glad Parkes is playing on saturday. But it's only delaying the inevitable, so I'd go with McDonald when Parkes gets banned.
all ifs and buts..... but if parkes gets a yellow on saturday then we lose him vs port vale and vs rochdale. and mcdonald would be able to replace him for the port vale match as wont be able to play against parent club. that would leave either woodards, paterson, virgo and lockyer to play CD vs port vale. woodards is playing defensive midfielder and we dont have anyone else to play that role so i doubt woodards will be put CD. i dont think he will go with inexperience so i doubt lockyer will start. so if parkes gets booked saturday it will be paterson or virgo vs port vale. i personally wouldnt risk parkes this saturday. we could manage other games if he is suspended but i think we will miss him vs port vale.
Here's another pain then. If JW thinks MacDonald is good enough, I reckon he could start him at Chesterfield, with Parkes on the bench. He can't keep the poor bloke for one minute end of game substitutions.
