The results certainly did not go the way I would have hoped last night. I was not to bothered about the Port Vale outcome, I reckon it is much easier if you can get a breakaway pack ie Gills/Vale/Another. What concerns me is when you get the playoff contenders picking up the results they did on Monday. My outside bets would have been on Rotherham or Northampton, however, in the case of Rotherham I do not place much credence to games in hand, I would much prefer points on the board, hence I thought the Millers might slip up and they have not. Still typical Oxford to be inconsistent. Next game up tonight Bristol Rovers v Exeter a Gas draw or win would be nice.
What's it all about......Alfie? ( Potter that is ) It's a funny old game, as Greavsie once said! Having scored crucial goals in the victories over Gills and Vale it must have seemed weird to him last night to go in 0 - 4 down at halftime to Mr Evan's boys. Were they getting over confident? Also I bet Micky Adams was wild with Doug Loft for getting a straight red in extra time. He will be sorely missed in the next few games. The way things are panning out you guys will have to get your WAGS to kit you out with false finger nails at the end of the season, as you will not have any left of your own !!!!
That was an excellent result for us tonight. We now have a maximum potential to earn 99 points, whereas Exeter only have an 88 point potential. Looking at third place Cheltenham there is no way I can see them making the autos, they only have nine games remaining and their fixtures are horrendous: Burton, Rotherham, Port Vale, Northampton, Gillingham, Exeter from the auto/playoff section of the table. If they do make the autos they certainly would have done it with the most difficult fixtures. ps. Burton v Cheltenham Saturday, so someone if not both will be dropping points. Just hope we do our bit against Plymouth.
i think Burton and norhamptons away form will stop them catching us unless we have a nosedive. I worry more for vale.
