A look at how Rovers compare to other clubs In the 2011/12 BBC survey of League Two ticket prices Bristol Rovers were ranked 15th based on cheapest season ticket prices. There were only eight clubs in the league with cheaper basic prices than a season ticket in the Blackthorn End at the Memorial Stadium. According to the report our fellow West Country clubs â Cheltenham, Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay all had more expensive âcheapest bracketâ season tickets than us. Southend United had the most expensive âcheapâ tickets priced at £350, with the best value tickets coming from Northampton and Bradford who both sold £199 tickets. Of the eight clubs who offered a lower season ticket price, three of those were less than £10 cheaper than us, with another two less than £20 cheaper. Bristol Rovers have frozen season ticket prices for another season until the end of March. The club has done its best to keep prices down, and as an added incentive, if you purchase a season ticket for this season you will be given priority choosing your seat in the new stadium. Supporters who purchased a season ticket last season and now get one for this season will have top priority, while those who purchased a season ticket for either 2012/13 or 2013/14 will be placed in the second priority group. 8 league 2 clubs have cheaper 'basic' season tickets than the blackthorn end (£260). out of these 8 clubs..... 3 were less than £10 cheaper than us 2 were less than £20 cheaper than us 1 was is between £21-£60 cheapers than us 2 were £61 cheaper than us who had the cheapest in the league (northampton/bradford £199) so thats not bad. looking at it that way its good compared to the rest of the league. then add the fact that the blackthorn end season ticket is cheaper than our local rivals cheltenham, exeter, plymouth and torquay. we are the best in the west also it could be worse, we could be paying as much as southend £350 only issue is they havent gave a lot of time to take advantage of the frozen prices. i cant afford it by end of march. so hopefully they extend the deal like they usually do.
I know your going to say who would pay to watch that **** blah blah blah just a mention. But your season tickets prices are on par with ours, so I would be pissed off we were in the basement league and you were in the championship paying the same as yours.
you are right ROD. i bet a few championship clubs are cheaper than a lot of league 2 clubs. ask a non gashead who is also a non red, who they would rather watch - championship football for £260 or league 2 football for £260 - im sure they would pick city as that makes sense!
It is easy to scew the stats by going for the chepest option, really it should be based on an av price across the stadium as the majority of supporters do not use the Blackthorn end. These stats appear to be flawed if you look at the BBC survey it states that the most expensive season ticket costs £324. If you check these prices with the club actually the west stand seated costs £410 placing us higher than the most expensive at say Cheltenham and many other clubs (although not all) I love however that •Bradford, Bristol Rovers, Chesterfield, Gillingham, Northampton, Oxford and Torquay have the most expensive pies in League Two at £3,whilst I have not eaten a pie at Bradford or Gillingham Rovers Pies are considerably better than the others mentioned and worth the extra cost the ones at Exeter and Oxford were awful and should have been 50p COR
