Totally agree, that stuff was gut wrenching. The decision was far from bad and I agree with Roy, you should know where players are when going for the ball. It was a dangerous tackle period, whether he meant it or not! I was glad they lost after the way the players and manager reacted after the red card. Totally classless.
A tweet from BBC Sports day - Jonathan Boyle: "Nani incident similar to De Jong-Alonso, which caused uproar for lack of red card. Mass amnesia has set in.".
The media and United fans tried to justify Clattenburg's horror show at the Bridge in October by saying Torres should have been sent off for an identical challenge to that one on Cleverley, can't have it both ways.
It was more like Gibson and Cole's red cards which got rescinded because they had their eyes on the ball and never intended any harm.
I'm out of my sick bed for the first time since Saturday not that any of you ****s care.I find it interesting how quiet the media are about Fergie's behaviour last night.Just imagine what would have happened if Wenger had behaved like that.
Exactly. Just imagine if our players went crazy in front of the ref and Podolski started clapping in his face. Sick of these crappy newspapers and toilet media outlets.
Contrast the media's reporting of Fergie's behaviour with that of Wenger's susposed rant before the Munich game I would also like to say Nani's red card was deserved because i thought it was dangerous play regardless of whether it was intentional or not
I just had a look at the Roy Keane thread on the United board. They could not be more predictable in their responses hilarious stuff!
I wrote on that thread that the rules of football are open to interpretation by the referee. If the referee interpreted Nani's actions as dangerous or reckless then he was correct to issue a red card
2009 "Chelsea players in disgraceful scenes with officials" 2013 "United players right to be angry" Every single media back page either had Drogba or Ballack on it and they were lambasted. There were calls for Chelsea - Yes, the entire club - to be banned froom Europe. Not one paper has even reported Ferdinand's provocative gesture in front of the ref nor Fergie telling a reporter to "**** off". Overseas our media is laughed at for being sensational, biased and non-factual in their reporting. It's pondlife here.
Also I didn't hear any sympathy for Chelsea when Del Horno got a red card after Messi's theatrics, nor any sympathy for Arsenal when Eboue got a red card v United and RVP got sent off v Barca. In fact in all three of those games the excuse was "It didn't change the outcome of the game, _____ were the better side anyway and in control". When it comes to United, the media in this country are so laughably biased.
What about when Diaby knocked out Terry? Intention's probably the wrong word but you can't expect a players not to be allowed to try and play the ball like that. It's a foul because he fouls him and a booking because he's caught him hard. If it's dangerous, it's dangerous whether or not Arbeloa's there because Nani has no idea whether he's there or not and when we start red carding players for that we might as well all pack up and go home because football would be a joke.
When Diaby knocked out Terry the referee obviously didn't interpret Diaby's play as dangerous or reckless. As i've already said the vast majority of the laws of football are open to the interpretation of the referee.
Yeah, I got that far thanks, but there seemed to be no suggestion that it was one, for some reason. I can understand that everyone had Terry's health in mind at the time, but it just seemed to be a blatant foul to me. Hard for the ref to miss, really.
Dunno who I watched that was commentating on last night's game but it was also, incredibly biased and they could not stop talking about the red card after it happened. Eventually I turned off the sound and watched it in silence.
