Cross? That'll be why I started that post with 'haha' Dave, as I find it amusing, as you lot spout stuff like that without even a hint of irony & I find hilarious tbh & you've just done it again!
Oh dear dear me Tobes - feeling a little liverish this morning? If you feel that our behaviour is beneath you then you can always go and sulk on your own wasteland of a board.
It's used to dismiss any comment thrown at your lot as being driven by jealousy, which given the attitude of reds towards the Mancs these days, is somewhat ironic don't you think?
Maybe, but I think you're taking it too literally. Name calling starts off with some relevance but quickly becomes a convention. Often the victims adopt the name to take the sting out of it, eg: Conservatives and "tories" . As I've mentioned before, I grew up near Goodison and a lot of family and friends were/are blues. I have no animosity towards them but slagging each other off is part of the game. I think you can tell when it's serious.
I assume you're referring to Heysel & the aftermath in regards to EFC? Most of the reds throwing the 'bitter' tag around now weren't alive when that happened & therefore don't apply that conotation imo.
Lad, I grew up calling you lot Blues when we were the ones who were the butt of the jokes. Over time that morphed into Bluenose and Bitter. All 3 titles have become common parlance. It is irrelevant to now try to claim that it cannot be used by any of us born post-Hysel. If you really wanted to get irate then perhaps you would be better advised to save your powder for those who refer to any Scouser as a bindipper!
Bitter is the term of choice for most Dave, not that I'm arsed. I sit in the PE near the away fans at Goodison & the Mancs still love the 80's 'classics' of 'sign on, sign on', 'we pay your benefits' etc. Which I find mildly grating seeing as it's 2013 ffs. But when ****ing Stoke started singing it, YES ****ING STOKE! I got somewhat aggitated.
I have to agree with you there Tobes. There's higher unemployment levels and crime in Mancland FFS! I did like your lads response of waving tenners and singing "Sitting in the stands drinking Scotch".
I know Man Utd have had a bad time of it over the last 24 hours, but in my opinion, **** em! Its not like they havenever had a dodgy decision go their way before. When Stevie G got sent off in Kennys first game back. (completely unfairly) I dont remember the fans or Fergie showing their outrage at inept refereeing. Like politics, people only give a **** when it affects them. Im just enjoying ole bacon face chucking his toys out of his pram. if you think you are hard done by, try being scored against by a ****ing beachball!!
yes, grates with me when the Mancs sing it, but the ones that took my breath away were the Middlesbrough fans. My exes family are from 'Boro, they're alright tbh, but when you've seen South Bank and Grangetown you sort of get a benchmark of just what a slum is. And then there was the Burnley fans....
N'gog once scored for you against us I think ? That hurt more than the beachball incident as I think the beachball has more talent than N'gog
But he was a forward, the fact Dossena lobbed VDS was probably a bit more brutal. It used to drive me mad when O'Shea or Wes Brown would find a way to score against us, just sitting there thinking " HOW????"
If I were Rafa, Id stay in bed Sunday, he ll get dogs abuse from the mancs, and his own fans, and Coward Webb is ref, poor c**t
I know what you mean, the youll never get a job ,grates a bit with me too, as if anyone watchin footy these days could afford to go on the dole
