I dont doubt he was a promising youngster.

Just pointing out he is not the next Ashley Cole as HIAG claims. Buttner, utds new young lb is twice the player. Fergie was upset when Spurs signed him from Liege as it appeared a bit dodgy. Fergie wasnt afraid of giving him to Liege though was he.

Fergie was upset by how things were done, not because he was losing friers, but because he was losing out on compensation.

As i said, we will see. You have promising youngsters but i dont rate friers as one of the better ones.

He didn't give him to Liege though, Redbrynner. His contract expired, Utd offered him a new one and he turned it down and signed for them.
I have no opinion of him, as I've not seen him play often enough to form one, but he wasn't told that he was free to go. Quite the opposite.

  3. WRONG!

We lost Bale to injury during part of this season, and (someone will correct me, if I am wrong on this) we didn't lose a single game.

Take Goofy out of 'Pool, and you'd sink without a trace.

Without the 15 points Bale has given you would be mid-table.

Only if you didn't go through every other side and take out the player that's won them the most points.
I think a lot of sides would be worse off if they'd played with 10 men all season.

We lost Bale for a couple of games due to pregnancy.

Yes, I'm still bitter about that.

He was also banned against Reading for being repeatedly fouled.

If Man Utd had wanted to keep him that much, I think they would have.

All a matter of opinion anyway. If Zeki Friers becomes the worlds best left back ill gladly eat my words. But i severly doubt he will become a regular for you and will be moved on to bolton/stoke/wigan etc within a few years.

I think fergie heard nothing from him and was presuming he would be back for preseason, didnt sound too bothered either way though... Which is not surprising considering they had brought Buttner in.

Im not saying the kid is useless, Im just objecting to HIAG assertion that he is the next Ashley Cole and therefore going to be the best lb in the world. Ashley Coles name should not be banded about like that, he has been world class for ten years. It is like me saying that Sterling is going to be the next Messi. (Which he is not.)

Of course, man utd are an all powerful entity that can do what they want when they want and can also influence the wishes of people. I wonder, did they want to keep Ronaldo? Even Pogba? Course they did, they still went.

Im not going to praise United. We shall see what happens to Friers. That is all......If he is destined to be the worlds best lb then bookmark my comments by all means.

Until then, tune into some reserve fixtures and watch a bit of the guy.

i never said he would be the best LB.
You said if Utd had wanted to keep him they would, that is false. Utd DID want to keep him, Fergie said as much, but they didn't/couldn't

In other words, you are terrified Spurs have nicked a potentially top drawer player off Utd for peanuts. He may turn out better than Cashley Cole or worse than Konchesky, who knows, I doubt you or many on here have even seen him play. Ferguson was so obviously riled by losing him, I doubt he would have given a toss if the lad didnt have the making of a PL player, and even accused Spurs of manipulating the rules. Fryers turned down Utd`s new contract offer, he was a free agent meaning Utd got compensation for him being under 23.

Sterling will do well to be the next Kieron Dyer.

Fryers wanted first team football, but ironically he hasn't moved any nearer to getting it. No manager gives young players more of a chance than SAF though. Too big for his own boots.

Any Liverpool fan sniggering at Utd's loss to the ref tonight in the CL would do well to remember that we get another chance next year.

i didt say you said that. I said HIAG said he was the next Ashley Cole, therefore going to be the best lb in the world as Cole has been for a while. Sorry for the confusion.

Hopefully Fryers can be loaned out to the Championship next season and we can see what he is capable of. He played a few games for Standard Liege, so he must have something about him.

I must admit I didn't realise he was as old as 20, our other full backs were playing regular football at that age.

I hate the 'without x player argument'.

If we didn't have Suarez, we'd have signed someone else. Likewise with Spurs and Bale.
