Just read about this on the beeb - kid's a ****ing legend! Hope he gets somewhere with it - he's a Cooper as well; good lad.
I've just emailed damian green. He is the mp for Ashford about 10 miles from me. Just to get noticed ive sent it with the header stick your tickets up your arse. Plenty of that should grab the attention of his small mind.
Another reason to be proud to be a Tiger. Actually, taking account of the Huddersfield supporters reactions and protests thus far - another reason to be proud of Yorkshire! I'm really impressed with the activism around the issue - letters to all and sundry and of-course the young mans legal action. One has to be careful about making over the top statements or undertaking actions that might seem like over-reactions but I really do feel that although this may to some people be "just" a football match, it is in fact "just" another lawful activity. Through my work over here in Australia, I have unfortunately witnessed successful attempts by Government to effectively criminalize activities that should be taken for granted as the rights of citizens in what we call democratic countries. I am on the one hand saddened to see this kind of arbitrary power being used by the police (who the hell voted for them), and on the other hand really happy (almost inspired) to see what I think is a historically English response to unfairness and interference with personal liberty. P.S. I joined this debate last night (Melbourne time), on the other thread - "should the the ticket allocation be rejected" and made a similar contribution to the one made earlier in this thread by Bullshitman, i.e.. Everyone should go to Huddersfield. I included a few details about a gathering outside the ground. I share some of the concerns voiced by others about the potential for unrest and hopefully (why not) that can be avoided, but there is potentially a lot at stake here and lawful protest may be essential.
Everyone should just email david cameron, and tell him to sort it out or you won't vote for him again (regardless of whether you voted for him or not, if he thinks you have the fear of losing votes will sure kick his arse into gear).
If I e-mailed David Cameron it would be to give him a 3 second warning (which is more than generous in my book).
Don't bet on it. It might make you feel better but once you start the expletives going they ignore your whole letter and you've wasted your time. If anything it sort of proves to him that WYP are right regarding Hull City fans. MP's have very thick skins, especially Damian shothead Green who I once had the pleasure of calling a see you next tuesday. Didn't get me anywhere, it won't you.
West Midlands Police or West Yorkshire Police.. Two words shared but not everything in Yorkshire is as good as I always claim .. West Yorkshire Police or West Midlands Police. You choose I think WYP could learn a thing or two if they look at how WMP do their job darn sarf. http://wmpfootballunit.wordpress.com/2013/03/05/policing-walsall-fc-v-shrewsbury-town-fc-2013/ Amanda Jacks at FSF has sent it around.. get it tweeted around boys.. Karl Turner may learn something.. we all know WYP aint listening... YET!
I went to watch Hudds tonight so had my eye on the police. They had walls of police on the stairs surrounding about 8/900 boro fans, as well as a wall in the home end. One fella got took out without a struggle but there were 10 (TEN!) police/stewards around him as he left.
That's my email done and sent to the relevent people. Thought I'd wait until WYP compromised their position before I sent mine, and they did that with the compromise offer they made last week.
Hmm, first personal reply received within 13 minutes of sending. Well done Karl Turner on providing me with an update at this ungodly hour. Now time to get back on at WYP and make them climb down completely.
Yes he is still the only MP to reply to my follow up e-mail on 2nd. Okay Karl Turners reply showed he had missed the key point over travel restrictions that's enraged City fans and was on about ticket numbers which is actually irrelevant, but better than no action. K Turner also agreed with me that the real issue for WYP is about funding and the loss of their case v TWS. He also said that a full review needs to be taken nationally other MP's must support that for anything to happen. Diana Johnson also raised it but it seems uncoordinated by MP's. I'm ot surprised by that though.. At least I know Damien Green and Jason Mccartney two of the other involved MPs I e mailed on 2nd got their e-mails as they had an auto acknowledgement set up. I've chased my own, Andrew Percy, twice now and still not had a response, so I've chased him again this morning. I urge everyone else to keep naggng and e-mail and re-tweet the link posted below on how West Midlands Police act responsibly. The more this is rammed at WYP from all angles, the more the pressure to U Turn increases. http://wmpfootballunit.wordpress.com/2013/03/05/policing-walsall-fc-v-shrewsbury-town-fc-2013/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news West Yorkshire Police lose football costs appeal case West Yorkshire Police were ordered to repay policing costs to Leeds United West Yorkshire Police has lost its appeal case over the costs of policing matches at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium. The force was seeking to overturn a previous court ruling that the club was not responsible for paying for policing streets and car parks near the ground. The Court of Appeal in London rejected the police's claim. The decision means that West Yorkshire Police will have to repay Leeds United for three years worth of policing fees.
That's another issue. Police forces have been ripping football clubs off for years. Clubs have no choice or say in what they pay or who to they are just forced to.
Actually they do have a choice. As a group they could challenge the protection racket. As it stands they choose not to, but they certainly have a choice. Also, it's far from another issue, it's a big part of why we're in dispute with them.
I'm sure it's the reason they're being dicks, but it doesn't make it okay. Their finances being **** are not our problem.
As quoted by Karl Turner MP its exactly why we are in dispute with them. They are pissed off that Sky and the Football league are dictating ko times to them and can no longer expect to just bill the clubs without a fight. There suggest of "Police Interlligence" of Tigers fans causing trouble after drinking all day in Huddersfield town centre is just an excuse.
