What he's a disgrace because he goes against something that United fans believe? Sure thing....

Don't think he's particularly anti Utd, he just loves to stir the pot and try to dig up some controversy. He pretty much said as much when he started punditry. You can be pretty certain that no matter what the presenter and the other pundits say, Keane would say the opposite. They could claim the sky was blue and Keane would be slavering in their faces shouting "It's green, yer feckers!"

Some of it may also be simple bitterness at the fact he wasn't good enough to make it as a manager. Pretty sure when he retired he said he'd only do punditry if he was utterly desperate. So he's now become the archetypal grumpy middle aged man, stuck in a job he hates and trying to compensate for it by making like as uncomfortable as possible for his co workers <laugh>

Always a pleasure to hear your insights King Chav. Your wife must be pleased about tonight's result, she's less likely to get a beating!

I need your advice, should we be writing death threats to the ref, accusing him of racist behaviour or just accepting that **** happens?

Top comments from Roy Keane, telling it as it is. WTF do people expect when one footballer is doing kung fu on another player Whether it be deliberate or not , great reffereeing.

Could not understand utd's game plan they started great but then went all defensive you would have thought they only had ten men on the pitch the way they tried to shut up shop.

I Suppose its down to G Bale to keep the flag flying for us Brits.

Didn't think it was a red, but I can see why the ref might give it.

Rules say it's only a red card if you far exceed the necessary force used to make a tackle and are in clear danger of injuring your opponent. They also say it's a yellow if you act with complete disregard to the safety of your opponent. Pretty clear to me Nani was acting without caring about Arbeloa, rather than deliberately tackling him in a dangerous manner. Hard to see how he far exceeded the necessary force given all he did was lift his foot to try and control the ball.

But it's just one of those things - if you raise your leg in Europe you are always in danger of getting a red from an over zealous ref. It's one of the main reasons you need a fair chunk of luck to win the CL - a bad decision like that in any game and you can be out before you know it.

As for Keane, I doubt his comments had anything to do with what he thought of the decision. I reckon had the other pundits claimed it should have been a red he would have defended Nani with his life, just to wind them up!

Shouldn't Rafael had been given a red?

I think the red was harsh. But in all honesty Utd did get a bit lucky with the disallowed goal in the 1st half and the Rafael handball of the line in the 2nd. It doesn't justify Nani's red, but Rafael would have walked and you would have conceded a pen if the ref had spotted it.

Shouldn't Lopez? His challenge on Vidic was no different to Nani's yet it wasn't even a foul never mind a red.

I thought Roy was a top class twat after the match. While I think it was a red, I think it's really down to bad luck. Were it not for Arbeloa's challenge, Nani had that ball under control - but unfortunately he studded Arbeloa. Completely underserved and unfair on United, but if you're being strict to the rule book, I think it's the right call. Well played United though. Never gave up. Great effort - can be proud in defeat I think.

How the hell can you agree, when you were watching the game were you thinking he's going to get sent off here, were you ****, we may as well give up football and start playing ****ing badminton.

What about the thousands of times it goes on in other games, what about people jumping with elbows and catching people on the side of the head isn't that dangerous but they say well he was looking at the ball so he didn't mean to elbow him in the face, so Nani was looking at the ball and was no more dangerous then any other challenge.

What about Arbeloa he saw Nani with his foot up and knew the risk, wasn't he stupid for going in there with his foot up there, what about overhead kicks in the box aren't these dangerous, where the **** does it stop.

9/10 the ref would have given yellow but you always get one ref to spoil it step forward, Turk the Burk.
