Some of the reactionary, ridiculous comments on this thread from the usual twats make me ashamed to be a City fan. Tell you what, instead of posting this inane **** about Bruce being 'totally tactically inept' and all the other bullshit that is posted, just club together and post 'BRUCE OUT!' after every defeat and 'WE'LL WIN THE LEAGUE" after every win.
Just seen the goals on Sky. Mcshane got caught out completely by Zaha for the fourth. People blamed AB for a goal against Brum for not closing down, didnt blame him myself. Well Chezzy did the exact same thing for Phillips' third goal. Lets hear you start slagging them off?? Great header by Simmo, Great save by Stocky and unlucky with the other pen. Phillips second looked a bit fluky too. Both pens were very harsh. No one appealed for Hobbs' handball. Terrible decision.
Law of averages says we have to win one of these days on TV. Just hope it's this season- or in the play-off final
I expected us to lose tonight, we did, it's not the end of the world. I expect Cardiff and Watford to get the auto spots, I have for a while now, but if you'd asked me at the start of the season if I'd be happy with the play-off's, then I'd have said yes. So I remain happy. I'm disappointed that lessons are not being learned, we've been **** on the road since Christmas, it's one of the reasons I'm not in South London tonight(that and the fact I've had to go back to working for a living). I'm pissed of that Zaha is a diving twat, but in reality, we lost to the better team on the night.
Wouldn't say it if it wasn't true, if a team wins one game they are guarenteed a spot in the next games line up, regardless of what differing threats they have to offer or weaknesses to expose. We're in March, playing a lot of games, players are getting tired and we have a fairly big squad of talented players to rotate with but it's still the same ones week in week out. It's too easy for other teams to set up to play against us because we play the same way with the same players every single game and have done all season. We should mix it up a bit, keep the enemies guessing and not give them opportunity to stifle us so easily.
Reading the match feed on the beeb, most of the first half analysis involved penalties/free kicks/fouls going in favour of Palace!
I do agree, I'm not even a alex hater, i just think he needs a rest, he's tired and really want faye to play against burnley.. plus we want a change to stop the rot of these goals condeded
I think we'll be playing catch-up on Monday night - Palace at their fortress against Leeds and Watford playing a dire Blackpool side.
Agreed, and you can't go down the line saying we were robbed etc etc because you'll never move on. We need to accept it. On to Burnley.
Theres some truth in this, think Bruce needs to step it up a little bit in terms of keeping the opposition and certain of our players on their toes- I still rate what he's done this year very highly though
Precisely, and I think Stevie Wonder could have seen that a 3-5-2 wouldn't nullify the threat of Palace's wide-men. We should have gone 4-4-2. There's nothing to stop him from changing it mid-match if things aren't working.
**** off, I used to laugh at Bruce's tactical failure at Sunderland, I was worried about it when he came here, I've maintained that all season long, I maintain that now, I've seen nothing to show otherwise. I've never thought we'd get autos, I never thought we'd be doing this well, I don't get all "we're gonna win the league" when we win, I don't get all "we're relegation fodder" when we lose (apart from purposely when some soft ****s are getting all uppetty about it). I don't want Bruce out, he's a decent manager, he's brought in fantastic players, he's just a 1 trick pony and when plan A doesn't work he doesn't really have a plan B. And plan A is always the same plan A. It's happy clapper ****s like you that make me ashamed to be a city fan, can't criticise anyone or anything hull city wise without being a 'ridiculous, reactionary, usual twat'. Time you wake up and smell the coffee you deluded ****head, we're not Barcelona, Steve Bruce is not Jose Mourinho, and George Boyd isn't Cristiano Ronaldo. Everyone's entitled to an opinion are they not? ****ing idiot.
It's easy to overreact after a poor result like tonight's and forget that so far this season we've exceeded expectations. With Watford still left to play, our destiny is still very much in our own hands, and despite two poor performances on the road of late, I still fancy us for automatic promotion. However it must be said, conceding eight goals in our last two away games is inexcusable.
This was predictable; to win was a long shot, yet always worth calling for. At Sunderland, Bruce was criticised for his rigid tactics and I do personally believe he needs to be more unpredictable with the players we have - I thought that was the purpose of bringing them in - options. Tactics right or wrong we got knobbed by a good team and we need to find a response. My concern is the number of goals we concede, posters keep finding the fluke excuses, but that's ****e, a decent defence does not allow that many flukes - we are gifting them. It sounds like McShane got caught tonight, but when he was a defensive regular winning MOM and plaudits from long-standing critics, we did not leak goals like this. Perhaps we should start by looking at what has changed there? Disappointing, as is any loss, but not the end-of-the-world; there will be further twists and turns before this all ends. A big result against Burnley will restore alot of faith.

Exactly. He brings the right players into the team when he needs to, but instead of altering the formation to suit he just expects them to slot straight into his 3-5-2. The most laughable example was Cameron Stewart at wing-back against Donny in the League Cup
