I think a lot is down to the very poor away support we seem to get at the CCS, like golaccio said about the KC. There's nobody to sing the songs to. If I had to guess I would say we average about 5/600 away fans at the CCS. The whole stadium arrangement doesn't help either, but it's too late to change that.
Probably true Arwr but can we honestly say we make a lot of noise when we see good away support, e.g. Bristol City, Leeds and Palace. Probably because they are in the corner and mainly higher up, their noise extends outwards whereas ours, coming from different areas gets a bit diffused. We make a lot of noise when we score and have a few minutes of celebration and taking the pi$$ out of the opposition fans but then it all tends to go flat unless we score again. My whole point is, however, that we do not seem to be making much of an effort to make our place a lively environment. Not helped by the st no shows and the numbers who make for the exits well in advance of the final whistle.
Someone told me (don't quote me on it), that the "acoustics" actually direct all the noise onto the pitch instead of the whole stadium. In other words, the players can hear us sing really well but, we can't hear each other sing. However, I think the OP is wondering why we don't sing more often as opposed to the actual noise levels.
Don`t know bout you BFB but up in Borro we sang our hearts out and their home crowd was **** ..........you ever been away before asking that question???
JH Copied from my original post: - "Contrast that with the support given at away games .........etc" My comment referred to what happens at CCS. I've been to countless away games since 1970 so probably have more experience than you. Please be sure of your facts and read posts fully before asking such questions.
Well stop knocking our home support thn pops , i and many others sing our hearts out on the Canton end and so do lots of others...you sit in the Grandstand then? Try saying something positive about our club instead of knocking the thousands that turn up week in week out ...
JH You are such a berk. Again you haven't read previous posts. If you had you would know where I go in the ground. Try using your brain before typing such rubbish. I am at every home game as well as going away so I believe I can speak with some authority on this and our ground has become very quiet to what we had at Ninian and even to what we had when we first moved to CCS. I'm not knocking our fans, I am stating facts and if you took your head out of your arse for once in a while you might understand. The point of the post is to look for solutions. If you make such ridiculous comments about your fellow fans what sort of gibberish did you put on the Swans board before you got banned?
Think its you Mr that is dissing his fellow fans try a chill pill ,notice in that message of mine no name calling as im sure you could learn from that as you seen to be in that"older bracket listing to you". Try it? ..............................;O)
Had a glass of shandy too many tonight have you JH? If you bothered reading the whole thread you would have seen that a number of other City fans agreed with me and, guess what, the only one to go totally in the wrong direction was you. Night night sunshine, hope you have a better day tomorrow. You will feel so much better if you can remove the chips from both shoulders.
Well BRB I will show more dignity thn you can ever imagine and will say nos da without any name calling as i find it so imature and shows the type of person don`t you agree? ............................;O) JH
JH - nobody is trying to offend "fellow fans", we are just discussing how we could improve the atmosphere at the CCS. To be fair, we still get a better atmosphere than most...just not to our high standards
Exactly Arwr Nice to see JH adopting double standards as usual, accusing me of name calling which is exactly what he did in his comment of 11.37 pm on the thread about going to Swansea. I'm done with this thread. It only takes one fool to spoil things.
Let it go lads! There's no winner and no loser. Remember we are gentlemen on this board, don't be confused with imitations. Right then Direby C*nty.
Can't agree with your take on this thread sorry John. It is a sensible thread aimed at solving/discussing a growing problem at our ground. Many others (like our Hull friend) report a similar issue. Please don't start causing agro on this board now you can't have these little spats with the Jacks anymore.
