Can't see Steve Bruce dropping anybody after a 5-2 win. Although Alex Bruce doesn't seem to be as solid away from home. We need solidity against Palace, and I'd put McMessi in.
Think Alex was the only ****e player in an excellent performance on Saturday. Thought he was amongst the worst against Bolton too. McShane in definitely for me, he's been a revelation and our strongest back line has to be Chester - Hobbs - McShane, and we must play our strongest side away against a very good Palace team. Also, Bruce gets done on the turn far far too easily, he's got the turning circle of an ocean liner, and with the agile Zaha and Bolasie to terrorise him, I think he could well be in for a very long night.
He's just ****e. Full. F*cking. Stop. Anyway, I'm actually more concerned about Brady tomorrow night. The kid can't defend to save his life, and he's going to get run ragged by Zaha/Bolasie.
Think Brady could prove instrumental, his pace will cover our back line against that pair and help them out no end. I don't think he's likely to find himself having to put in an inch perfect tackle in the penalty box with Zaha/Bolasie in front of him doing a million step overs, that will be McShanes job.
There very pacey but lets not forget we are a very decent team, it will be an hard game and we need to be at our best. On our day day we could beat anyone in this league and fear no one so lets hope we go there and show them why we are second in the league. Come on city
I thought Brady and Elmo were very disciplined on Sat. They need to be again on Tues and we might stand a chance of some points. I'd go 0-0 both sides cancell each other out
The bookmakers and Palace fans will agree with you. If we play to our best then the games ours, anything other than our best and Palace will be too strong, should be a good game regardless.
We have to start better in the big games away from home. We were undone by Cardiff in November because we started sluggishly, and by the time we came into the match and got one back, we had a mountain to climb. Same as the games at Leicester and Boro. Don't want a repeat of Bolton.
The same goes for us. Nobody in the league can get anywhere near us when we're at our best. Someone posted something along the lines of this on FoxesTalk the other day... "I texted my Forest mate and asked him his prediction on our game (vs Ipswich) and he said you'll either win 4-0 or lose 1-0". Sums us up.
For the 5 or 6 teams who are better than the rest (Cardiff, us, Leicester, Palace, Watford), it's probably true that they are unplayable at their best, but the question is who can hit their best the most often.
Its not even who can hit their best most often. I'd argue that we and Watford have but we're still some way off Cardiff who have been able to grind out results when they've not been at their best.
I think we win this game. I see us getting 2 goals with boyd and gedo on fire and I dont see us giving up 3.
