O/T Premier League & Football League All-Time Table

Just found this table (on the Cardiff Board), which is an all-time table of teams who have ever played in the Football League and Premier League since both of their inceptions.

I was surprised to be honest...

 

****ing hell - Bury, Grimsby and Barnsley are all above us? The shame.

 

If we take 38 points from our next 287 matches we'll be level with Grimsby. I'm not so confident.

 

Look at little old Leeds way down there. Forever in our shadow

 

Actually I can relate to that table as Preston, Wolves and Burnley were huge teams when I first started going to City, all had international players in their squads and in those 3 teams many who played for England. Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday were other big teams with England players until Sheffield Wednesdays England players were banned for life for taking bribes I believe. Liverpool were 2nd division, until Bill Shankly arrived that is.

 

Im stunned that Wolves and particularly Sheff Utd are above Everton.

 

Yo yo teams will always feature quite highly in a table like this

To the OP - what are you surprised at? You failed to say

 

Just at teams, like Dutch said, such as Everton, are below teams like Wolves and Sheff Utd. I thought L**ds would be higher despite their recent history as well.

I thought Spurs would've been higher than they are

And I expected us to be above Grimsby FFS...

 

you'd expect that if they're been in the league longer and/or played more matches.
