Don't agree JWM, providing it's declared O/T it can be about the excellence of Ipswich fans at pulling their pudding!

I was only kidding mate this isn't my board and I couldn't care less what the subject of the thread is. TBH I'm starting to get a bit bored with this site. I can't believe all the hassle we have had in trying to get a simple banner put on our board. <steam> Really, really fed up!

Perhaps it would be better if there was a separate folder for all Off Thread posts? Like Tony I can see both sides of this, but the main purpose of people coming on here is to post, read and respond to Norwich City related discussions so it is a little frustrating to have to wade through numerous unrelated posts.

It's something that regularly comes up on the mod board, but apart from the F1 board, and NUFC's "Sexy Poll", we've not had any success. There's likely to be a move to a new version of vBulletin at some point in the future, so I'd hazard a guess that this has happened because it's not worth the effort before we migrate to the new software.

I don't really understand, if the title of the thread is, "O/T The voice of cycling, why would you need to wade through it looking for NCFC related posts? Surely the clue is in the title!

Personally I hate cycling, but as a mod I have to plough through all content to do my job! I don't mind any O/T subjects providing they're properly titled! <ok>

Hugh Porter and his wife the ex olympic swimmer Anita Lonsborough, are both big supporters of Wolves, He used to commentate on Wolves games for the BBC.

Disappointed this thread is where disappointment had to be expressed on the use of O/T threads when it's more closely related to football as cycling is a sport than most other O/T threads.

    That's quite confusing.

I just don't get this at all. Numerous unrelated posts? Not that many are there? How hard can it be to skip them if you don't like it?

To use this thread as an example, I personally DO like cycling, along with many other things (Gaelic games for example, which probably wouldn't be welcome here <laugh>), and I do use the relevant forums to get the latest on these.

I find it interesting, though, to see what fellow Canary fans feel about other topics, music, books, travel...whatever. It's a way of 'knowing' users a little better. Yes, let's use it mainly for NCFC, but a few off-topic threads are ok without getting pissy about it, surely?

Until the summer when sod all is happening on the football front then I would suggest a free for all topics for a couple of months or there will be nothing to chat about <ok>

    Top comment, gandy <ok>
Alternative threads help to put some meat on the NCFC bones, as far as learning more about fellow contributors goes. Whatever the topic being discussed.

I hate cycling - I thought a Kirin was a Japanese beer, ffs <yikes> But threads about music and travel get me heavily involved as these are both passions of mine. It's no different to match day banter with one's mates - the conversation invariably strays from the match you're about to watch at various stages of the day.

Also good to see relatively new contributors (like CarlaCanary) being proactive and getting involved in threads. <ok>
