If the residents of Hull vote against the purchase of KC Stadium then what next?

Will Assem Allam just accept this or will we move.

This would then open up for a referendum of East Riding residents only.

Do you want a Football Club, Super Stadium, Olympic Size Swimming Pool, Luxury Hotel and State of the Art Sports complex.
    YES or NO.

    I vote YES.

East Yorkshire wouldn't hold a referendum(if they did it would be a yes vote), but they'll just give the Allam's the go-ahead, in fact they'll bite their hands off.

If it got this far then surely it'd be just a case of planning permission. I doubt a referendum is needed for that. A referendum for Hull residents is extremely unlikely anyway IMO.

I'm an East Riding resident now, however I've spent most of my life living in Hull. I will be livid if the council do not allow Mr Allam to fulfill his desire to give Hull a sports village which the people of Hull (& those in the East Riding) can be proud of.

I will be even more livid should it go to a referendum and then the people of Hull opt not to have it built.

If any of the above happens, and the only alternative is for Mr Allams Plan B at Melton then I would fully support this proposal instead, although I would find it shameful that he was not able to do this within the Hull boundaries.

God I hope you're right. I just can't shake the feeling since Brady announced that he would let the people decide the day after the election, is we've got a council who are fairly hostile to a sale, and don't want to carry any political baggage on it. Leave it to a referendum and it's "not their fault, guv'". Whatever the result.

And sadly, I am certain that a referendum would return a no vote.

Because a weekly market, a car boot sale and an annual funfair on a wasteland are so much better than a major regeneration project. <doh>

As a Beverley lad, I'd certainly vote yes. You Hull chaps would be more than welcome in Yorkshire. ;)

Why would East Riding residents want to vote on a purchase that does not affect them.

Because it will affect them, it'll hopefully benefit everyone in the area. If it's built the facilities will be open for all to use and enjoy, regardless of where they live.

We might even bring on future atheletes, swimmers from the EY region.

Don't you think then that an immigrant offering to give back £100M to the city should be encouraged?

If you are happy enough paying your taxes for them to have free hand-outs which is what they will get if the plan goes ahead good for you.

I guess you,re suggesting more money should be spent on education? Seriously, do you not look at that and think "Hang on, why is the apostrophe at the bottom?" ****s sake.

Take your appalling grammar and racist Daily Mail bullshit somewhere else please.

What did I tell you about letting the bumpkins get involved? Leave it to us big City boys and let the joskins abuse their turnips.
