I got that, in fact that is what i was on because tvcatchup kept stopping. But it was blurry and i had the volume down low as the missus wasn't impressed when i said i was gonna watch MOTD in bed, lol!
Benny and Daws were the unsung heroes at the back I thought, although because Walcott was roaming (but never found) that did leave holes down our left side that particularly in the first half Sigs and Bale could have been covering better. Agree with comments about Parker - much more like his old self and more positive, hence the 2nd goal. As for MOTD, the commentary was **** and so were the pundits. Was going to use that phrase that Judas always gives the impression of being so far up his own arse - but then thought that might not be appropriate in the circumstances........ The Goons came out of the traps faster than us certainly, but created the square root of ****-all. If it hadn't have been the NLD I doubt whether I would have broken sweat watching it. They have some technically adept players,but if you flood the park with decent ball playing midfielders you are going to get lots of possession. The trick is to actually create something from that (and defend professionally of course). They didn't and we did. End of!! P.S. And Bales pass to release Defoe down the right was sensational Edit: oh - and the funniest thing was seeing Ades celebration after the Lennon goal. He chased him over to the touch line and did a sliding dive. Unfortunately Lennon wasn't on the deck and he managed to miss Azza by a good 6-8ft!!! But at least no one can say he wasn't trying!!!

I read somewhere (sorry, don't remember where) they're both expected back for Inter. Take it with a grain of salt. Arsenal were the first team in a while to out-press Spurs. They were the first one in a while to try, and Spurs' two goals showed why. If you press against a team with players as fast as Bale and Lennon, you'd better have really smart CBs, preferrably fast ones. Arsenal has one that's too slow, and another whose strength is scoring. For their part, Spurs defenders and Lloris excelled at snuffing out threats before they could come to fruition. While Vertonghen, Dawson and Lloris all deserve their praise, I'm starting to believe Beni's influence is underrated. He's smart, quick, excellent on the ball, and spreads a feeling of calm. As everyone else, it seems, has noted, while this is a big step forward, it's all to play for. Spurs have gotten off on the right foot in the toughest part of their schedule, no more. I'm particularly pleased not only with how our defenders are playing, but because we're starting to look like we have stronger non-Bale options. Gylfi's been particularly good, but Lennon and Dembele scoring recently, along with Defoe's return, are all encouraging.

Didn't watch all that but he raised lots of interesting points about the Spurs defence looking more solid than it might actually be. If Arsenal had passed the ball better/earlier, we might have been in a whole different mood today. On such small things are games decided.
Spurs are a great counterattacking side. 39% possession for Spurs was fine because when Arsenal surrendered it- after doing little with it most of the time- the pace and clever running of Bale (and Lennon too) was too much for Arsenal's flat-footed defence to handle unless they could catch them offside. Wenger consistently gambles on his team using that possession well and dismisses the threat of the opposition too easily. In games v lesser teams this policy might succeed, but every time they play a decent side who can counterattack, they come unstuck. Neville pointed out what we can all see. If Arsenal had quick, alert defenders they might get away with it, but whatever Wenger says about the stats their defenders are poor- lacking pace, awareness and positional sense on yesterday's evidence. If you don't have pace and you can't play offside consistently well, defend deep.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, a high line is easy to pick on when it goes wrong because it's so obvious. However, the fact that our defences aren't constantly getting torn apart and that we are drawing a lot of offside calls show that it has some very measurable benefits. You do need to be very organised and the highlight of Benny wandering well behind our defensive line is worrying because he had everyone naturally in his line of sight so he knew where our line was supposed to be and that they would have two strikers stranded offside if he moved up with them. The funny thing though is that in the 5-2 under 'Arry our problem was our defence sitting back deep and our midfield leaving too much of a gap to them allowing the likes of Walcott to make a run and receive the ball before they get to the defence and go past our deeper defensive line with the ball. The biggest problem for Arsenal was just poor basic defending on both goals. It also would have helped them if they had a proper defensive midfielder, everytime Vertonghen, Walker or Benny ventured forward beyond the ball Parker and Dembele would slot straight into their position and when they had the ball in midfield they weren't able to stroll forwards waiting until the right time to release the pass because we have two midfielders who trackback and tackle a lot better than Arsenal. The first half was chaotic because of the clash in high lines, the lack of any real possession or slow build up and both sides willingness to run themselves into the ground trying to exploit eachother's defence. That was always going to change once players started to tire. There were still flashes of the quick breaks but mostly from us as we picked our moments to counter against Arsenal as they overcommited trying to get a goal. Good game to watch though, I reckon.
It also helps to, at least, have your defensive line in a line, if you're trying to play offside. As both Hansen & Neville clearly showed, not only are the Goon defenders flat footed and slow, but also they can't even get basic organisation right.
Hartson came across as pro Bale to me,good man,as for Bale being a goon fan,i think he managed to dispell that with the goal celebration
