Surely any supplier for next year would have to have started work on an engine some time prior for it to be competitive? Not that I wouldn't like Honda back in the sport (and I'm fairly certain Mclaren would be screwed if they go with Cosworth) but...

Honda it is then and no doubt the Marussia tie in will die a death with implications of Bianchi/Ferrari.

Genuinely surprised by this. Honda have two years to design a competitive engine, a much safer bet than relying on Cosworth even with McLaren's help.

You should have been working on a contraflow that I was stuck in a few weeks back, with merging skills like this I'd have saved a good 30mins on the journey time!

I'm just going to throw VW's name into the hat. Its been a bit of a tradition these last few years :)

Most likely Audi badged if VW enter the F1 Engine supply chain.
Would be cool to see Ford return.

So simply, going back to Honda may allow for the consistency they had in the past, compared to a Mercedes powered which is quite the opposite.
However going with Cosworth may not guarantee success but would make the team completely British.

The more engine suppliers the better, it's scary that as it stands 11 teams in 2014 will be powered by just 3 Engine suppliers.

I never knew the relationship between Mclaren and Mercedes was so unhealthy and futile until now. Thanks.

Hmm, reading that BBC article and I can't actually see anything that says McLaren will have Honda engines at all, it's a typical tabloid piece IMO. Honda are looking into the viability of returning to F1 as Engine suppliers, McLaren will possibly be looking for a new engine supplier and the rest is pure conjecture.

on that note I would like to see it happen, as others have said, the return of the McLaren-Honda would be awesome.

What is known to be true is Honda are already working over at woking. so its pretty much a given and an announcement could be made in the next few weeks. It needs clearence from Honda's board of directors
