Got to love the positive spin being put on Liverpool's debt increase which is a clear sign of the club's impending world domination. Very unlike their opinion of United's annual debt reduction which is a clear sign of impending financial meltdown. Funny old game.

    Sauce?

All I've read from people is that we haven't got any details that tell the whole story yet? To be fair I probably don't hang around half as many Liverpool forums as you do so I'm sure there could be some trying to see positive before the detail......

According to the Echo, you made a loss of £40.5M in 10 months (note that the 2 months not included were the summer months with zero income, so that result would be worse). Together with a debt increase of £21.8M.

All good news & nothing to worry about apparently mate.

Don't encourage him, he'll only want to show us that his level of understand of finance matches his understanding of marketing and corporate strategy i.e. next to nothing

There's a thread entitled "Financial update" in the Liverpool forum of a website called not606. For some reason I was reminded of Muhammad al-Sahhaf when I read it.

The problem is Dave that I, like so many others including TB, am too stupid to understand you. My level of understand (sic) is clearly lower than yours.

By the way, it was TB, not me, who you lectured about what a brilliant corporate strategist you are!

Another plonker tryin to tell LFC fans about there own club

Are the figures slightly concernin, a little bit, is it a major worry, Definitely Not.

    Why

£25m per season kit deal we now have isnt include in those figures, neither are other new sponsorship deals such as Chevrolet

2ndly LFC have offloaded £35m per season off the wage bill since the summer, by offloading Carroll,Spearing,Aqualani,Kuyt,Maxi,Bellamy,Aurelio,Adam,Cole. So we are paying £35m per season less in wages now than we were when these figures are for

THATS £6OM PER SEASON , RIGHT THERE

3rdly in the last 12 months, LFC have launched marketing schemes in Thailand,India,Indonesia,Singapore,Malaysia, I know LFC are looking to make big bucks through these sources. I know Im seek to death of seeing stories on the LFC website with some new venture in Asia

I'm here to learn from Dave. He's got so much to share on sports marketing, the London property market, corporate strategy, financial accounts and Dutch culture.

I may be wrong, but the summer months often have a fair bit of money distributed - the last chunk of money from the PL may not arrive until June, and most season tickets are sold in July. Utd's annual accounts certainly always show a fall in cash throughout the year then a big jump in summer when we get the broadcast and ST revenue.

The biggest concern for Liverpool is probably the lack of revenue growth - £5 million is not a lot, and City have now overtaken Liverpool by some way. With the financial and sporting distance they are behind Utd, Chelsea, City and Arsenal, and the fact Spurs may overtake them next season if they qualify for the CL, you have to wonder how much of a help FFP will be to Liverpool now.

The move of the financial year end date is a weird one - I think pretty much every other club in England has theirs run from the 1st July to the 30th June. Liverpool's used to run from the 1st August, so was one month later than everyone else's, but now runs from the 1st May which is one month earlier. Would've thought the sensible thing to do would be to make it 1st July. I wonder if they're fiddling the balance sheet date to try and make sure they don't miss the first FFP target - they've lost more money than Chelsea in the past two years <yikes>
