"What goes around comes around"? Talk of Pearson going. You heavy presence over the last 48 hours. There's still every chance we will get promoted and you won't so shouldn't you be more concerned about whether Bruce will stay or not if you fail? Your match away at Palace on Tues? Watford's form? You seem more interested in the affairs of your ex-manager and praying for him to fail than in your own club. And I might of guessed you'd know people who deal with paranoid inferiority complexes.
Look back=you are wrong. Talk of Pogba,Redknapp and Real Madrid(they were being serious!) does not indicate inferiority complexes. D for delusional or maybe I missed the clues that they are on a par with Madrid and Juventus. Tubby kid who"s parents have bought him all the new kit springs to mind
If we dont go up i wouldnt worry too much about next season. IMO we would lose both Schmeichel and Knockaert but we will have over 10M in the bank for it. We have some very good young players in Chris Wood, Ben Marshall, Liam Moore, Danny Drinkwater, Matty James and Martyn Waghorn. Jamie Vardy might have wised up a bit so he might be able to pay back some of the faith been shown in him High earners like Danns, Beckford, Wellens, Konchesky, Wellens, Gallagher and maybe even St. Ledger will be moved on. Along with the owners backing we should have a decent amount to invest Its just a case if the owners decide whether or not Nigel is still the best man for the job
I like your style Proud, a realistic Fox amongst a sea of fantasist ones, and your last sentence sums up what I've been trying say. No doubt AKCJ will be around shortly to soothe your nerves, telling you not to worry, and that Pearson's going nowhere.
But we could say the same about you. Bruce has spent heavily and if he doesnt deliver your owners wont be best pleased. So far our owners have sacked 1 manager in nearly 3 seasons
They were happy to see Pearson gone and they sacked Sousa and Eriksson(don't claim any 'mutual consent' bollocks, he was sacked).
You could Proud but, for me anyway it wouldn't carry the same weight. The Allam's specifically targeted Bruce as a manager that had previous experience of getting clubs promoted from the Championship, and one that, once there, had enjoyed a degree of success, unlike NP. On this basis I'm happy that they would give SB more time should it be needed. Who knows, maybe Pearson WILL achieve what would be a first for him and get Leicester promoted to the Premier League, time will tell, all I am saying is that I think he will be on thin ice if he doesn't get you up this time around, and it seems that many on Foxtalk agree with that view point.
Yep, with them happily watching it all unfold in the background, salivating at the thought of a big name manager and how many more shirts it would help them sell in Malaysia...........................then came, hang on I'm losing count, was it Sven or Sousa?
They were in negotiations when Pearson left and when Sousa was appointed, neither would have been done without their approval.
Nope. Sousa was being shown around the training grounds and was Milan Mandaric's guest at the Play Off semi final against Cardiff. He was then appointed virtually straight after Pearson was sacked on the 7th of July 2010, by Milan Mandaric. Top and his Dad took over the club in August 2010 and Sousa was gone in early October after 9 league games. They then appointed Sven two days later.
They were already in talks in July and nobody hires or fires a key staff member in a company they're selling, without the approval of the new owner.
Think you may be a little naiive ther AKCJ ... this was my reading both then and now ... Milan Mandaric is first and foremost a businessman and he has done OK out of football - selling Portsmouth first then doing something similar with us - stabilising the ship, then showing its potential - a football club that can pull in over 30,000 punters quite easily when it is doing well .. there we were in the play-offs - no better time to look for a tidy profit. The Thai's were amongst the interested parties and indeed were football 'fans' - but amongst their questions for Milan in terms of a possible deal was 'Nigel who'? and they probably stipulated, as part of any deal, freedom to appoint their own 'stellar' manager, hence Paulo Sousa, a player with an incredible pedigree, already doing a fine job at Swansea, being guest of honour at our play-off fisrt leg with Cardiff.. heralding Nigel's rather strange departure to Hull ... I think Nigel will get the heave ho if we don't get promoted - if I'm realistic - but I would expect the Thai's to then look to bring in another name (by that I mean someone with either a pedigree of succes at this level .e,g Nigel Adkins or a foreign coach with a promising track record) I'm more optimistic about keeping Schmeichel and Knockaert - partly down to contracts but also that any new manager would want assurances about those and some others ...
Oh yes they were. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/2726347/Leicester-City-scores-takeover-approach.html
