La la la la la la La la la la Everything seems so sunny La la la Woohoo I love Mondays (today especially) And I don't know why! (The above is not to any tune)
I've one more thing to say now that the little hindrance called Arsenal is out of the way. People were concerned that they'd come back again against us,well I wasn't because the circumstances were different. We have a different manager and we were at home. Also the goals were good not the scratchy lucky rubbish we scored against them earlier in the season. Our form is good and they scored by a deflection which meant luck not skill scored for them. So that's it and goodbye goons,I don't think you'll trouble us for the rest of the season.
From what I've seen of cini's posts, they are usually spot on. - seems to be able to judge from an unbiased point of view. Not surprised if those comments didn't go down well, but someone's gotta say it how it is!!
Arsenal's "domination" of games means having a lot of non-threatening possession in midfield before being picked off at ease on the counterattack by the better teams who have quick forward players. It's the blueprint for beating Arsenal and I can't understand why Wenger continues to fail to address the issue.
I don't see how those ****ers on MOTD sat there and said they were the better team in the first half, mincing around in MF ignoring Walcott's runs is not being better in my book, also, Lloris did **** all, and Sneezey pulled two out of his onion bag! Campbell, is a jibbering fool that told nobody anything remotely new or interesting, there was one point that fat tard was just looking up at the ceiling while the others were talking...presumably about a subject he knew little of...football! Hansen displayed usual bias when he said there were 5 better goals last month than Bales v Spam.
Arsenal definitely came out of the blocks quicker, they took control of possession and in honesty, you'd have thought they'd have been the team to score first even if they weren't actuall troubling us with the possession. Then Sigurdsson and Bale came along and quickly changed that, a brilliant through ball from Gylfi resulted in what Gareth was left do what he's been doing best of late - beating keepers with ease. The finish in my eyes, was top draw, to have the composure to allow the ball across his body and the use the outside of his left peg to knock past Chesny was amazing. Then 2 minutes later, Parker and Lennon pretty much done a carbon copy, Parker hit an inch perfect through ball but this time Lennon decided to round the keeper and slot into an empty net. This was the game change in many ways, not only did we suddenly become 2-0 up but from then on, I thought it was all Spurs bar 1 or 2 Arsenal chances. Bale should have finished from Benny's cross, Chesny made a decent save or two and Sigurdsson had a moment of madness (despite what was a very impressive game in my opinion - his best in a Spurs shirt) by trying to square the ball when one-on-one, had he scored that it would've been game over. Our defence were superb though, Jan in particular was unbelievable and Daws put in a typical Daws-like performance of "never surrender" and played with his heart on his sleeve. Hugo yet again proved why we arguably have the best keeper in the league, he dealt brilliantly with everything he could, their goal was a good header and I doubt any keeper could've stopped that. Benny looked back to his best too, I think he may have just let Walcott out of his pocket. Was also good seeing Scotty P back to his terrier-like ways, despite Arsenal's domination of possession, he - along with the defence ensured that it was just that - possession. Though I think a search party may have been needed for Wilshere, the "future of English football" looked like a player well out of his depth yesterday. On the whole, a great win for us, not just because it was against them lot but it's strengthened out CL spot significantly right before we have tough run in of fixtures - though the players seem to have a belief they can beat anyone and a mentality of never say die which bodes well. I think I speak on behalf of all (or atleast the majority) of Spurs fans however in saying we're still not getting carried away, last year's collapse is still strong in the memory for us fans (and players) so until it's mathematically impossible for a team below us to take our CL spot, I don't want to see any comments of "mind the gap", "we're now the top team of London/ North London" etc for the time being please, there's still 10 tough games to go
Campbell was a ****ing useless pundit. Also, did anyone note his intro from Colin Murray: "a man loved equally by both Spurs and Arsenal fans". The words sound like a joke, but it sounded like a serious statement on the show, and nobody so much as chuckled. Shame Gary wasn't hosting. Hands up who loves Gary
Agree, it's been used at the Emirates for years but is now being used anywhere and everywhere. Even the likes of Swansea have successfully exploited this glaringly obvious weakness. Everybody is happy to concede possession to Arsenal in non threatening areas knowing they can open them up with swift counter attacks. What I saw yesterday was a carbon copy of Arsenal's games against Chelsea, United and even a City/Liverpool in their last outings against them. It's a team that doesn't learn from its mistakes, hence why at this stage Chelsea and Spurs have to be favourites for 3rd and 4th respectively.
And because he didn't, that passage of play is forgotten in the excitement of the result. But check back on the move that led up to it. If Bale had scored that would have been one of the moves of the season. In fact if Barca had done exactly the same the pundits would have been drooling. The pace at which the ball went forward through several perfect passes, an absolutely brilliant cross - and what a shame about the finish!
This is why it is a shame Murray is being replaced by the anodyne Chapman. That was a cracking joke at Campbell's expense that pissed him off all through the programme. So good to have someone that isn't beige to the core!
The most insulting thing was Jonathan Pearce's commentary for the game - namely talking about us like scrappy underdogs, how Bale was a commodity we'd be losing in the summer, and generally coming across like he hasn't looked at the table at any point this season. I mean, seriously, what the actual **** was that? As for the panel, Hartson saying that Walcott kept running all game but forgetting to add the words "around like a headless chicken" nor putting two and two together about why Wilshere or Arteta never got the ball to him was as mystifying as the panel saying that Clattenberg had a good game - mainly as they edited out everything he ****ed up during the match. It's like we were being told off for daring to beat Arsenal!
It seems to be a trait of fans of certain clubs that they start sounding like their manager - Arsenal fans certainly sound like Wenger when they lose, MUPLC fans sound like Bacon Face when anyone dares point out that their club isn't the bastion of all that is good and pure about football, and Chelsea fans started sounding like Mourinho (and, at times, still do) Could be worse, though - Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers both sounding like Liverpool fans, and Neil Lennon doing the same at Celtic, is never a good look.
