Well either way we can relax having won yesterday. That win was the most important of our season, had we drawn or worse, lost, top 4 would probably have been waving us goodbye. As the hours pass by the more I am starting to warm to the idea of an Arsenal win, I just think with the run in Spurs have they will falter. If they were to lose today, it's a big ask to then go to Anfield and win, and then not too far down the line they have Swansea, Everton, us and City all in a row, and with Wigan you never know what your gonna get. They are dangerous opposition this time of year. Arsenal win would really throw in a cat among the pigeons. 3 of our next 4 games are at home, and the away games is against a side we have already thrashed this season so confidence issues shouldn't really be there. It's not far-fetched to suggest we could go on a bit of a run and win all of them (or at least 3) and that should put us firmly in 3rd spot. Let Goons and Spuds battle it out for 4th. I'd happily see either miss out, I just really want us to get 3rd, 4th isn't good enough for me.
I have a personal reason for not wanting Spurs to go on top of us so will be wanting an Arsenal win today. I also think Spurs have done really well this season (so far) and have the attitude and confidence to push upwards. Lets hope Bale picks up a bit of an injury today and see what happens to Spurs then
Neither team looked overly impressive - really can't believe we're in a scrap for top 4 with them. No direspect (indeed, I am very impressed with Spurs' season), but we really should be ahead of these two by a long way.
Spurs did the same as what we did at home to Arsenal, only Arsenal played better in the second half but worse in the first against us. They were happy to surrender the ball and give them possession in non threatening areas and expose their backline with pace. It's basic football and shocking coaching. Ramires and Mata for Chelsea, Bale and Lennon for Spurs. Scary how easy it is to get in one on one with Arsenal's backline. Spurs did well, never looked like losing and limited Arsenal to nothing, could have had 1 or 2 more. IMO whoever wins the game out of us and Spurs at the Bridge will get 3rd, if its a draw I'd probably fancy us. Have to win our next 3 games and take advantage of the inevitable points Spurs drop against tough opposition.
Both. But to be fair I wouldn't call losing to the likes of City, Chelsea and Liverpool "bottling it", it's the lesser teams that win and lose you spots in the table.
It will be interesting to see if AVB can take them on to the next level. (Sadly) I think Spurs are a new stadium and trophy away from being a big force at least domestically. Hopefully it goes tits up somewhere though
Wasn't a bad game. It paid off having Bale as my fantasy team captain anyway! Personally thought Cazorla was fouled for one of the Spurs goals and it shouldn't have counted but still, i thought a Spurs win was better for us so i can't really complain. Still not sold on all the AVB love either. A team such as Spurs should be in the top 4 with the squad they have, he's hardly overachieving, just doing the job he should be.
