They probably just couldn't come up with a name.

We may not have an empire etc anymore but us English have given two of the greatest inventions ever to the world.
The sandwich and the full English breakfast!!

That's my favorite right there !

A bloody winner all day long.

I could eat one right now. Not that I stand a cat in hells chance of sourcing one around these parts.

You hear of beer "not travelling". Maybe it applies to patties too?

Oh well, I'll just have to settle for a fishcake. Pah :emoticon-0101-sadsm

At least sandwich sounds like what it is. Imagine if one of the other nobles had been eating it, we'd be discussing favourite cardigans.

They're all the bloody same at subway. I get annoyed when they ask me what bread, like it makes a difference.

Subway's ****. Plus, you can make far superior sandwiches at home for a third of the price.

Oh, and if I ever venture into one of their outlets again and hear a single person mispronounce the word 'jalapeño', I'll ****ing hit them

Diagonal cutting of sandwiches is a Southern affectation, horizontal and full of chips is totally Northern and should be enshrined in law.

#1 would be the famous White House Sub shop in Atlantic City NJ. I would recommend the Italian Sub. Maybe someone here has been there, everyone goes there that goes to Atlantic City.
#2 would be White Spot Restaurant in Charlotsville VA. They make the gus burger, only someone who has partied at UVA would know about this but it is one hell of a burger at 2 am.

James Patrick on the Weir make some great sarnies. Rare beef with peppercorn sauce on a baton = carnivores delight.

Just about every famous person you can think of has been there and the whole place is wall to wall photos of celebrities visiting the shop. I dont know for a fact but I have heard that it was Frank Sinatra who made it famous because it was his favorite place in the US to get a sub and it took off from there. It really is a good sub but you have to wait in like an hour long line to get one as the line goes out of the store and down a couple blocks.
