Interesting article here on Le Vent D'Antan, who also looks like a very interesting recruit and is prominent in the Champion Bumper betting. I must admit I'd never heard of Liz Doyle, but given she had both Cheltenian and Al Ferof before they moved to bigger yards certainly speaks volumes of her suitability for handling good bumper horses.
Runs in the Bumper tomorrow, as does Old Kilcash, representing the Moyle Park form, I am backing both.
I missed it myself but heard he looked awful in a racecourse gallop after Leopardstown today. Heard he had to be niggled to keep up with the other horses. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence!
Didnt look great at all ROTO, Blackmail even worse, not sure who was on him but looked like he wanted more from him and it was all rather laboured, the guy on ATR said he might not be a great workhorse but I doubt it, the way his old connections were talking about him before he ran in his bumper he must have been working well. I expected to see much better from him, looked like quite a serious piece of work, Ted Veale looked good, but you would expect him to, bridle horse that he is.
Most bookies clipped him a point or so after today's workout (Skybet pushed him out to 15/2) so perhaps ATR messed up and it was the wrong horse? Purely speculating as I haven't a clue myself.
Martins sent out a ringer! Clondaw Court is out, I only just heard that on atr when mullins spoke after his worked, could that have anything to do with the first few in the betting being clipped? If it was indeed him, and I think it was, it dosent look good.
Tony Martin used the opportunity to show off his new recruit Golantilla along with Blackmail, both of whom are preparing for the Bumper. Benefficient, who has options in the novice chases was also on display. “I was happy with all three and we’ll see how they are all in the morning,” he said. “Golantilla went well, I’m very happy with the stage he is at. Everyone has been happy with him since he came.” Maybe that wasnt Golantilla then?
I know, went out to 12s on betfair after the gallop yesterday, back in 7/1 fav. Rumours that he pulled up lame.... Ill be surprised if he even runs now tbh.
