Well, that hurt, & not just a little.
Didn't enjoy the build up to that game, whats usually a large amount of excitement felt like a massive dose of anxiety, all bloody week. But, as we draw a blue line & move on, is there any positives to take from that game? I think yes. Now, handing the team bottom of the league & cut adrift an incentive is usually a bloody bad idea, but, on this occasion it might well not be as bad as first thought (no, I'm not drunk......yet).

In the dog eat dog relegation battle, Qpr have Sunderland, Villa, Fulham & Wigan in the next four games. We are not trying to just finish above them, we want 17th or better, so we still have a lot of work to do at our end. But Qpr will need to use this momentum going into these key fixtures, & I see them upsetting a few teams.....with mainly draws. They don't look all that, but they sure are a tricky team (hard to breakdown & beat) with a lot of players to call upon, so as the games come, they will be more ready than Villa & Wigan at grinding out the odd points. So, is seven a good enough lead? We will know more after Norwich fixture, can't really afford a bad performance there now, but maybe theres a little light from a pretty dark weekend.

After the City game, a few got a bit ahead of themselves, at least we know where we are now, & theres no hiding from it. Happy birthday Mo-Po, welcome to the party pal.

Yeah I was always feeling a bit off in the lead-up to it.

Got to St. Mary's and turned to the others and said "I just have a bad feeling we'll get turned over 2-1!" - shame I was right. :(

I still think we will be alright but it is concerning. The media got just the storyline they would've wanted.

Well I'm impressed, someone who has managed to find positives from the game yesterday?
Personally I've been moping around all weekend, the wife has found a reason to go out, the kids have gone into hiding, even the next door neighbours can has run for cover fearing my boot up his jacksey.
    I aint happy.

Not happy, but strangely got over this better than the Newcastle game. No, I have no idea why.

When Adkins was sacked i said on this forum that i had put £10 on us to go down, After the last 2 games i'm more and more convinced that i am going to be correct. Tactics have been found out by two bang average teams. When you lose to the worst team in the league, at home and in the manner we did, it is time to worry.

Do we have much choice other than to put it behind us?.............A couple of weeks ago Euphoria.......we dealt a serious blow to a title contender........Then promptly get done over by two relegation candidates in our next two matches. Rather reminds me of the Saints of old......

The QPR result was bad, but you can't judge us on the last two games, when one game was away against a resurgent Newcastle side where one of their goals was offside. The Man City game was a great result and we were the best visiting side to play Man Utd, according to Fergie. If we lose our next four, I'd start to worry; it's too early to see us as set for relegation when it's in our hands to stay up.

Don't think Newcastle are really relegation candidates. They are too good and will get the points needed, as I believe will we. We are about the same standard. We were beaten by the bottom side, but we could have won. We will be better able to judge in a few games time...not rush to judge just because we hve lost 2 consecutive games.

It's quite common for a team to over play or over achieve when a new manager in appointed, usually in an attempt ot impress. That spell is now over in my eyes, after the international break we have looked a pretty poor side. Like i said, i'm very worried and i think more people should be.

Can't say I am surprised that Olly has returned to prominence in light of recent results.

I too am worried for our safety, but I think the way you are freaking out about it is over the top. Nobody is saying yesterdays result was fantastic, we all know that we should have beaten them, but at the same time we know we are capable to win games in this league. If we don't take anything from Norwich, Liverpool and Chelsea then I'd start to worry. But as it is we just can't predict how those games are going to go. I just hope that if we win at Norwich nobody will be saying we'll finish 11th, again, which by the way is just as ridiculous as saying we'll finish rock bottom.

And worrying helps..how? If it would guarantee a win I'm prepared to gnash my teeth and weep uncontrollably...otherwise I'll carry on believing in the team.

Whatever is going to happen will happen, we have no control over it. I'll support us regardless of our league position and regardless of division.

There's no point going on as you do.

Hand on heart, do you really believe we will get any more than 1 point from our next 3 games? Going into Reading away off the back of 5 staright defeats could finish us off in my opinion. Me freaking out is hardly an over reaction, bar the Man City game, there is evidence to suggest we no longer know how to finish off games.

Yes, yes I do. If we'd have beaten QPR I bet you'd be confident of getting over 1 point from those 3 and just because we had an off-day and didn't play to our best I still believe we will get over it.

The thing is you lose all credibility posting as you do. If we lose a few you'll post loads and feed on everyones depression like some sort of pessimistic football vampire. However if we win you never post and won't touch this forum. You've got to be consistent and not cherry pick your moments/posts.

Looking at it objectively i'd have taken 3 points from the QPR and City home games at the start of the season. Still frustrating though.

I honestly couldn't give a ****e whether you think i have credibility, The fact is our results have been bad since Adkins was sacked, what's more is that we no longer are getting the points of teams surrounding us.

I have always been accused of being a "Happy Clapper" and staying positive through thick and thin.

But I also thought that sacking Adkins was a terrible footballing decision, and would come back to haunt us. Whilst I am not as negative as Olly, I am starting to fear the worst.

With that said, I truly believe we are a good side. We could have got at least a point out of both of the last two games. I think what makes it worse is that we lost to such a negative ****ty team like QPR who genuinely were awful. I do agree with Jose Fonte's post match assessment that we controlled the game and were unlucky though.

Basically, if a manager wants to beat us all he has to do is tell his forwards to close down Cork and Schneiderlin as quickly as possible and we look a bit clueless. I am hoping when we are facing a team that don't have Samba keeping Rickie quiet we will have a plan B again though.

Essentially, supporting saints is never a walk in the park, and constantly throws up more drama than a long running soap, but I wouldn't change it for the world!
