Let's be honest: the best sandwich is, and will always be, bacon, egg and cheese with HP sauce

Don't know if any of you are familiar with Beres pork sandwiches in Sheffield? For me they can't be beaten! They did the bread in dripping and the crackling is spot on.

I always buy 2 cause the first just serves to gives me a taste for it! They should open until midnight cause they'd clean up from the merry pub leavers.

O/T my best mate shagged the owners daughter, long face like a horse.

I like OLM's pattie butty, I also love a mixture of chips, beans and brown sauce between two good slices of thick, buttered, white bread. However, sandwiches are like potatoes - good in just about every guise.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Cold curry leftover from lastnights post drinking session in a sandwich is truely a food from heaven.

Not really a sandwich but the accompanying cold garlic bread with some more butter and a fried egg on top*

*This was a regular sunday morning late breakfast about 10 to 15 years ago. Don't get the chance this days.

Edit: Try it. Last nghts curry tastes far better the next day. Add bread in and you're on a winner.

Everyone's missed the best - hot roast beef and gravy on doorstep bread (to soak up the gravy). That and a large JD and Pepsi make the perfect lunch.

It's bonkers to think bread was around 30,000 years ago, but the sandwich only makes an appearance in the 18th century. What took them so long?

That can't be right. Surely somebody, somewhere, in those 29,800 years must of inadvertently created a sandwich?
