Yes look at the match stats yesterday and in most games we would have taken the points. Draw a line and on to Norwich. Beat them and the world looks a different place!

Lose and it's squeaky bum time
I'm betting on a draw next week but I'm sure we will get a good reaction from Holty and Co after yesterday's game and maybe Kamara will leap into action to power us a couple of goals

I did the bbc predictor yesterday, and despite us losing the next three games, I do have us surviving. Worringly though, it is only with 36 points. In reality, I'd be surprised if 36 points keeps us up.

And as it happens, I've also got QPR surviving. At one point actually, I've even got them going above us (for one round of games only).

I still can't see QPR surviving, they've left themselves with too much to do IMO.

4 points adrift (with a GD roughly the same as the three sides directly above them). 10 games to go. Next 4 games vs Fulham and three of the six sides directly above them.

That's not too much to do in my book.

Your right, not too much at all. Harry's been looking for some impetus, yesterday was a massive result for them.

If we'd have beat them yesterday I'd agree they're down. Now I'm not so sure, they are really bad, but they could do it, it's not impossible. I just hope it's not instead of us. If we finished 18th and they finished 17th I couldn't take it, it would make the feeling of going down 20x worse.

I hope you're right Tom. We shouldn't read too much into one game. They beat Chelsea away and then nothing.

    Confidence waining Lambo?

They will regard at least 7 of their final 10 fixtures as 'winnable'. They have the best run in of any of the clubs down there with you.

They can easily manage 4 more wins and and 3 draws which could well see them safe. I can even see them managing 5 wins.

It's all very well saying "they have only won 3 all season so why will they win 4 in the next ten?". But this is a very different side to the one that started the season and teams can go on some crazy runs as a season draws to a close as you know.

Wigan, Reading and Villa for me.

No I'm still pretty certain they will go. As I've said before any game is winnable and personally I always think its harder playing sides with nothing to play for.

I can understand why people think they will go down.

What I can't understand is the certainty people are writing them off with.

This time next week there is a real chance they will be 2 points off 17th with 9 games to go.

Still possible for QPR to stay up mathematically...still lots of points to play for. However, they have to build on yesterday's victory. They weren't that good, but played the right game closing us down and hoping for a couple of chances. They scored from those chances, whereas we didn't score from our greater number of chances. Their next games are winnable...the question is are they fired up by their victory over us or was it their lucky day?

See your point Trix but we were poor yesterday and they weren't much better! They just took their chances. That won't happen every week.

All the sides down there are poor.

They can easily take 4 points more than the rest of sides in the battle given their easy run in.

I will be very surprised if they take less than 15 points from the rest of their games in fact they may well manage more.

Have a look at their fixtures and I bet you will agree.

I have sort of been on your side all along. I've never once written QPR off. But I am struggling to see how you can be so darn confident of them staying up, if you think there's a serious chance they may only get to 35 points.

For that to keep them up, they are seriously going to have to rely on the other three to ALL perform badly from now until the end. And Wigan in particular have some nice fixtures to finish with (not as nice as QPR's, granted).

35 points might be enough, but I suspect the line will be more around the 37 point mark. So rather than "they may manage more", I think "they must manage more".

Like I say, I think they are capable of doing it - and if you put a gun to me head and forced me to say one way or the other, I would say that they will stay up. But I'm not exactly confident of them doing it.

Yep. They need a lot of help just to be in a position where 15-17 points will be sufficient, and that's still a big number. QPR has struggled to generate consistent scoring opportunities, and unless they rectify that in a hurry, it's rather unlikely that they'll win half of their games from this point out; a couple of those games will probably turn into draws, and they'll end up around 33-35 points...a good closing kick, all things considered, but one that leaves them a result or two short.

Now, they absolutely can survive...but it's not the most likely scenario. A team that managed 17 points in the first two-thirds of the season is never going to be odds-on to double their points per game average over the final third.

Totally agree. Fact is we probably need to win three or four more games from our last ten to stay up. QPR probably need five or six!

And we only have to match those below us...whatever QPR do, they have to hope others slip up. We need those points soon to settle our nerves. Not screaming yet, but need 3 points at Norwich as a tranquilliser.

Yes the world and this board will seem a much happier place if we can get something from Norwich.
