Agree . Credit where it is due .

They only had two shots on goal , but that's all they needed.......

Don't forget we hit the bar and their keeper made a couple of great saves . I really think we need 3 points next week to boost confidence .

How true is that and against a 'Arry managed team to-boot. Pochetino's style maybe refreshing but is it going to work in the premier?

Trouble is beefy.......we had a few idiots who made us as fans look twats during the week. I warned then we would end up with Jam on our face. Strangely they have disappeared to let the more reasonable fan take the crap as usual........

Think we are jumping to conclusions based on one poor game. His style was great initially and if we'd got those points that our play deserved (MP didn't miss the goals, the players did) we wouldn't be having this conversation. Stay up this year and see what happens over a whole season with some new players in...he can stick to the same pressing style, but will have to have some better defenders. The failure to get strength in depth in defence wasn't his fault either.

There may be many reasons why we haven't got the defenders we needed in the summer...bad luck, out bidded, couldn't attract them etc. However, I think part of it lies at Cortese's door in the sense that he favours exciting football, so is more likely to sanction a large spend on forward players. Hopefully, Mauricio's experience as a defender will convince him to redress the balance.

    Morning all.
Always like to come back the day after the event and send my best wishes.
All in all we had a game plan and it worked. Saints had an off day and we took advantage. Don't see you as relegation, beat West ham/Reading and the odd result and you'll be fine.
Great day at St Marys and always enjoy the trip/banter/stadium.
Best of luck for rest of season. <ok>

And me. I've defended Ramirez a few times in the past but he was terrible yesterday, except for the goal, and the five minutes before he was taken off.

Flashes of brilliance isn't enough to compensate for everything else. He was infuriating yesterday.

The whole team was crap not just Ramirez, to single out one person from that crap yesterday is stupid. We need to seriously start being far more clinical, this happened a hell of a lot last season as well. We can't just hope Lambert plays great in every game we need something else.

Beefs nailed it. We aren't scoring enough from our chances. Same happened at Newcastle and to an extent against City. QPR had two attempts yesterday.

Wasn't singling anyone out - it was a direct response to someone saying Ramirez played well. He certainly wasn't the worst - Fox and Yoshida can battle it out for that honour.

I don't know what you were watching but he was the only player who looked like making something happen. He was much better than Lambert, Puncheon and Lallana (for the 40 or so minutes before he got injured).

I also thought Ramirez had one of his better games to be honest.

That's not saying much. He was just as lacking in the decision-making department as any of the other forward players, bar his excellent technique for the goal. Other than Rodriguez, Schneiderlin and perhaps Cork, none of the other players could be said to have had even a satisfactory game.

Pretty much how I feel. It's all good fun saying Ramirez looked dangerous, he did at times, but contributed very little - other than, as I said, the goal, as well as looking slightly more dangerous just before he was taken off.

Can't agree with that. We weren't crap, we played some good football at times. We had 67% of the possession ffs, but we got muscled out by a well drilled side, and Ricky couldn't use his strength or size against two of the biggest centre half's you'll ever see, so that door was closed also. Nothing really went our way, but you were at a different game to me if you thought we were crap.

Any team that loses at home to a side that has been bottom all season must be a little bit crap to be fair.

At this time of the year, the team at the bottom is never the worst team in the league. QPR have rallied, they have a gameplan and they're playing alright. We were crap, but still, some credit has to go to Redknapp and QPR.
