I have just had a ciabatta lightly toasted, bit of English mustard, then grilled tomatoes on. Then 3 rashers of smoked bacon. Topped off with two pieces of grilled black pudding. So good I had two of them. Washed down with a cup of Yorkshire tea. That my friends is the best sandwich ever unless you know different.......
any regular cut of meat supported by cheese, beetroot and dripping with salad cream on thick crusty bread from Cott's Village Bakers is far more appealing
Sounds nice but then im a big lover of sandwiches. In my opinion if you like the food it will always taste nicer in a sandwich. When lived at home my mum would always ask how many slices of bread. Id calculate dividing the meal into sandwiches, usually between 3 - 8. The rest if the family would be halfway through their meal and id still be making sandwiches. Important not as bad these days but still love my sandwiches Some of the most weird filling would be meat pie, pot noodles, lasagna
What the HELL is a Ciabatta? Sounds like a ****ty Italian car. Nowt so pretentious for me: 1. Hovis brown bread, buttered. 2. Cheddar Cheese. 3. Branston Pickle Simple but effective, and doesn't require me to consider ordering a skinny mocha latte or whatever you metrosexuals drink with your ciabatta's. Oh of course, coupled with some McCoys ridge cut, flame grilled steak crisps and a Crunchy. Heaven.
separated at birth maybe? i put pretty much everything into a sandwich, agree on meat pies, pizza, lasagne, whatever the meat part of the meal is, I'll pop it between the requires number of slices and bingo! my personal favourite: thick fresh cut white bread thinly sliced cold beef (very rare) horseradish few rocket leaves washed down with a pint of vimto BOSH!
If I put a filling between two pieces of bread, is it right to say I've got ONE sandwich? If it is, how many have I got if I cut it in two?
Sounded so good I made them this morning - they were great. My own fave are muffaletta from Louisiana. Ham, mortadella , salami, cheeses, olives, onions, garlic, pickled veg, capers, herbs, olive oil. You make them, then wrap in cling film for an hour or more to let the bread soak up the oil.
i am still smarting because heinz don't do tinned veggie salad anymore, and also that coop stopped selling bottled picalilli sauce. I now have to make my own picalilli sauce. gutted!
philosophers have been debating that for years. in the same way they ponder how many beans make five? the answer is obvious: two beans, a bean, a bean and 'alf, and 'alf a bean!

For me, the dilemma is not cutting it in two, but whether to cut diagonally or horizontally! Jesus, that sounded sad.
salami? isn't that a character from a disney cartoon? and aren't olives what popeye gets his hands on? keep it traditional. bloody americans. if only they had history, they'd have culture and individuality!!!

Mussie you are clearly a Connoisseur of bread their well done loaves are exceptional. Try toasted on one side with fried tomatoes and fried chorizo, or just a couple of Pullan's sausages. Or how about fish fingers and salad cream especially good after a few beers....mmmmm
