Hands up who thought after the first 3 games and goals that it might be just beginner's luck.. but..is now starting to wonder if he's actually one of the best natural finishers we've ever had..?? cough cough.. dotted line is here Mr Gedo, sir.. kerchink kerchink
I've read conflicting things regards Gedo, no one else can sign him in the next 12 months or we have the option to sign him but only for 12 months, I'm confused, ****ing hdm
As far as I can tell, we've negotiated a deal in which we have first option on Gedo for 12 months after his loan deal expires. So: If another club comes in for him, then Al Ahly must turn to us and say: "This club has offered £X, do you want to match it?" a) If we accept, then other bidders will be put on hold until we've finished talks - the only way Gedo could sign for the other team is if he rejects us first. b) If we reject, then Gedo would be free to talk to the other club in question.
Correct. Spot on. From what he has said so far he wants to stay anyway but a deal is in place. 5 in 4 home games says it all. Who needs either of the Campbells anyway ? DJC doing nothing for Blackburn and FC was partly responsible for one of the Middlesboro goals yesterday. Happy days.
i admit , without knowing anything about Gedo , it felt we were clutching at straws , and would be watching a trier that couldnt make it stick . Glad to be proved wrong on the last part ! i also expect the club to sign him if we get promotion and along with Elmo ,both happy to sign.
You could just tell as soon as you saw him play he had that predator look about him. Marvellous signing. Cap doffed to the Allams and SB.
That's what I thought originally, but like I say have read conflicting things since, if this is true then great
He's only scored at the KC though, if he doesn't score at palace or the udders then people might (unfairly) label him as a poor traveller when it comes to goals.
To be fair, one of his two away games so far, was 20 minutes against Brighton, where he was never given a chance on the ball.
I watched a lot of footage of him, full games and all. He is exactly what me and a few others said he'd be, canadatiger being one. All the panic about getting DJ Campbell. Relax we said, if we get this Gedo he's a class above. He will do these things against any defence. Everyone acted as though Gedo wasn't even a part of our squad until that game against Derby.
Harsh on FC, 5 goals in 6 games after months without a first team game is still pretty good. We're just lucky to have someone in similar form.
Just watched the highlights back on Tigers player and both Gedo's goals were quality, I remember people saying "I'll judge him when hes had a 1 on 1" well he put his first one away easily, and his second goal was quality all round. One thing that did annoy me watching those highlights back was that the commentator kept calling Elmo, Gedo!
I honestly think Gedo loves being at Hull City and would jump at the chance to sign for us . He oozes determination Really looking forward to seeing Fathi in the team with the Egyptian ' supporters ' saying how good he is .
If I was one of our opponents, I'd stick a bid in hoping City would beat it and have less money in the budget for other targets.
There's always a lot of optimism after a big win like yesterday, but for the first time since 2008-9 I can honestly say I wouldn't swap our front two for any other pair in this division. I think Gedo was the best buy in the JTW ahead of Wood, FC and Devious Dudley and Boyd seems to have it all including a very good football brain which is quite rare. The icing on the cake will be if we get Fryatt back and firing because we need to have another goal threat coming off the bench and not the frustratingly barren Simpson and Prozzy. The biggest achilles heel injury we've had at this club has been our strike force, but now it feels like we're finally recovering.
We've been saying for months that if could just get a couple of strikers on the end of these crosses we'd start scoring ****loads and it seems to have been spot on. Ever since half time against Derby when Gedo came on we've looked a much better attacking force. I genuinely believe we'll get promoted now, our biggest threat will be injuries. If we were to lose Boyd or Gedo we might have a problem but right now I can't see us not going up. And before anyone says, I wasn't getting all negative after Bolton. That game was clearly a freak result, a one off if you like. We'll lose more games between now and the end of the season but we'll win a lot more.
As I and one or two others said, Campbell is an old, **** mercenary. It showed how desperate we were for forwards that people were getting excited about him. Gedo has been good so far. He's not really had many chances, but he's taken most of the ones he's been presented with. From the footage I saw of him he looked brilliant too.
