I don't think the backlash is ridiculous, more your comments on certain players.

It's a message board, if you can only make negative observations about certain players regardless of their form, it's a ridiculous situation. There are players who get slated continuously for being alright-ish yet if certain other players **** up you can't say anything because of the reputation they have. Simpson for example came on for about 5 minutes today and people genuinely seem to be blaming him for us conceding two goals <doh> But that's okay cos it's Simpson.

For some reason, it seems that only the younger posters on here (myself, Erik, Goochie, City1904, etc.) dare to buck the trends and say what we see. The majority of people just praise the 'cool' players and find whatever reasons possible to blame other players for anything that goes wrong.

ISTPLT you would find a reason to criticise Messi or ronaldo if we had them. You purposely nit pick the slightest faults with our best players to try and stand out and look cool.

Truth is Koren is just a class above most our other players, he reads the game excellently and his vision is second to none. Every player has their faults, specially at this level, and with Korens outstanding attacking ability if he got stuck in to challenges and threw his weight about, he would be playing in a top champions league side.

I thought koren was just what we've missed in the middle, he plays with tempo, he's composed, he finds space, he dares attempt risky defence splitting passes and more often than not pulls them off, he does great flick ons and pass-and-move sequences to get things flowing and turn defence into attack in seconds, and he poses a lethal goal threat from anywhere within 30 yards to the enemy goal.

He was all of those things today.

People can't seriously blame Simpson for us conceding twice. They can criticise him for not scoring in about 20 games though, just like many did just 7 days ago with Koren, including myself. But today Koren put in a good performance while you seem to be trying your hardest to spot something wrong with his performance.

Nothing to do with 'cool' players <laugh>

Koren is a model pro, and when he's out of the side, we miss him. He's not deserved the criticism he's received of late, primarily due to the fact he's been playing as a striker when he's a midfielder.

He has the ability to score from anywhere (apart from inside the area, he can only score with his head in there!), make a game-changing pass that just cuts open a defence to put someone through, he doesn't normally mess around in possession, he gets it out the flanks regularly and has, IMO, started getting into more challenges and tackles.

I thought he didn't put a foot wrong today, well done Koren <ok>

Spot On and well said. Could not agree more ^^^^ this. <ok> Koren and Boyd were an obvious fit and today just proved that. The bench looked very strong again and when you consider that Rosie, Oli, Fathi and even Dawson cannot make it. Loads of options for SB now. Role on tuesday @ The Palace. <cool>

Yes and No on ^^^^ this. The only thing wrong with say Jay Simpson is his lack of goals. <ok> Nobody can question his effort, desire and work ethic ? Apart from the clueless muppets that is.!!! The 2 late Brum goals for example were down to a collective sloppy end to the game. That IMO should act as a spur (if any is needed) for the Palace game on tuesday. Then again watching the Wendies tonight how the **** did Palace lose last week to them ?

He tries way more than he used to. In his first season, all he did was walk about and try the occasional long shot !

He is a top player, in midfield though, nowhere else !

If my aunts had bollocks she'd be my uncle.

Robert Koren is a ****ing superb player and we are lucky to have him. There isn't a player ever who hasn't got some minor fault in their game. Stop picking at what he can't do and look at what he can and does for the team.

Erik, can you just clarify something for me?

If Koren did do something that you deemed worthy of a jodrell would you store it away in the **** bank for later or just knock one out there and then?

    In E1.

It's something we all need to know.

For the record I don't think you'd be criticised for either response.

Well said Bullshit Man! If we had Pele or Maradona playing for us you would still get our fans slating them for misplacing a pass or not trying to cripple themselves like Paul Scholes does everytime he makes a tackle. Koren knows he is not a midfield enforcer thats why he plays the game intelligently which means we win games and he scores goals.

    Well maybe one <whistle>

It's a relief to finally see Koren back in his proper position,he was starting to attract unfair critisism while playing out of position up front.

Yesterday he was back to his creative best,he's the only one who will pick a defence splitting pass, and at the right time.

He does pull out of tackles, and he always has,but i gave up on that ages ago. What he gives to the team is priceless and makes up for that in spades.

He doesn't injured a lot does he ?

What you've just described there is George Boyd. It really isn't asking that much for someone to get stuck in a bit, anyone can do it and being talented certainly shouldn't stop you.

If I just deliberately picked on the best players I'd be moaning about Meyler, Boyd, Brady and Gedo at the moment.

A few weeks ago everyone was going crazy at me because I gave Meyler a motm vote when it was uncool to like him, everyone was saying he couldn't be arsed since he signed permanently (<laugh>) it was one of our worst performances of the season against Barnsley and I picked him out as the best of a bad bunch and everyone was going mad about it. A couple of weeks later there was a thread about how great he is and I said he usually gets tired towards the end and gets sloppy and suddenly everyone was going crazy that I dared to have a bad thing to say about him, forgetting the fact they all hated him about 3 games before that. It's a ****ing joke. This board nowadays it literally just a choice of either agreeing with everyone else or you're a ****.

Nope I don't mind a debate with you Kempton, we usually disagree but you don't get as personal and angry over players like Glennon does. The guy absolutely hated Brady and Amos for some reason and just gets all personal if you disagree with him. He also tells anyone who thinks Chester has been better than McShane this season that they haven't a clue about football. I don't mind people being wrong if they just present it as opinion, but everything is fact with him and you're a **** of you disagree.
